Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Ryan Ed1 contributionI went with my wife and some friends to Laguna Humantay and the experience with Terra Quechua Peru was exceptional. From the organization of the tour to the service during the hike, everything was impeccable. The hike up to the lagoon was demanding, but the views were breathtaking, and the effort was well worth it when we arrived at the beautiful turquoise lagoon. The guide was very friendly and explained every detail of the tour.
At the end of the hike, we enjoyed a typical lunch which was a perfect reward. We also had the option to do part of the journey on horseback, which was an excellent alternative for some of us.Written 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Every step to the top was full of discoveries, from the unique flora and fauna to the changes in the landscape that reveal centuries of geological history. I highly recommend this agency not only for their professionalism and knowledge, but for their commitment to sustainable tourism that respects and protects this incredible natural environment.Written 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WorldTraveler639Montreal, Canada297 contributionsWe stopped here for hot chocolate and a brownie after reading all of the amazing reviews and we were not disappointed. The brownie was perhaps the best we've ever had in our lives... - Will Patrick1 contributionI traveled with friends and from the first day we enjoyed biking down the Andes and rafting on the Vilcanota River. The second day was trekking along ancient Inca trails, passing rivers and coffee plantations, connecting with nature and local culture.
The third day included ziplining and a hike to Aguas Calientes, preparing for the grand finale: Machu Picchu. The thrill of arriving at the citadel after days of adventure was indescribable. Our guide made everything safe and well organized, we definitely recommend this tour for those looking for history, adrenaline and breathtaking scenery!Written 10 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We took a seven-day excursion with Felipe and his crew, Machupicchu Peru Treks. From the beginning conversations six months before our trip to the thoughtfully planned seven-day itinerary that included informative tours of Inca archeological sites, delicious organic meals prepared fresh by the chefs and crew, inspiring commentary about Inca culture, history, and identities, and insightful perspectives about the breathtaking landscapes and geological features of Peru, Felipe was extensively knowledgeable, trustworthy, friendly, detail-oriented, passionate, and funny. Haku, haku, Felipe, no rush, my friend! As my blood pressured spiked up on the trek to Vinicunca, Rainbow Mountain, Felipe took care of me the entire way up, walking behind me, never rushing me, checking in often, and supporting me to the summit. Without his care, concern, and support, I might have not made it. Muchisimas gracias, amigo Felipe, por todo tu apoyo!Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DayTrip8167198 contributionsOur hike to Rainbow Mountain was the highlight of our trip! Our guide was Eduardo and he was amazing, he told us so much about the history and culture of the area and was so kind and friendly, he really made the experience exceptional. The hike was a little slow going because we’re from a coastal area and struggled with the altitude but Eduardo was very patient and didn’t rush us at all. The view was incredible and we met two locals with llamas and alpacas and let us pose with them for these photos. The food included was also amazing and the driver was very safe and careful on the dirt road. Everyone should book with this company!Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Josh CUtah2 contributionsAmerico is a great travel guide. I would recommend him to anybody looking to hike in the Andes. We used him for a five day truck over the salkantay pass. - DJWilkes-Barre, PA1 contributionI had a single day ayahuasca retreat and I went into the mountainside where they have a healing temple there. I was picked up and dropped off in the exact same place for ceremony. I had 5 different Peruvian ceremonies, all were beneficial to my health, my mind and my well being. I was able to ask questions of what was going on and ask personal questions about the shaman who were more than willing to answer. I chose this particular institution for the knowledge and years of practicing shamanic rituals and healing experience. If you want a real authentic shamanic journey without all the commercialism tourism attaching itself to this sacred plant ritual, then look no further. I will be back to be guided by the plant medicine with the shamans singing their quero medicine songs for healing. I had a significant transforming journey, so much that I came back 2 days later with my husband for a heart opening ceremony and he loved his time here also. Thank you and you will always forever be a part of my tribe and dear to my heart. Muchas gracias!Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lauren M25 contributionsI am so happy that I found Etnikas! I did the 5 day retreat and would suggest this option if you have the time. It was explained that the first time one sits with ayahuasca it is a “shaking of hands” with pachumama. I found that with each ceremony i was able to go deeper and deeper and gain incredible insights that will stay with me for eternity.
I have so much respect for Maestro Quero Danilo and Maestro Chipiva Vilma, as they played a crucial part in my healing process. I also want to thank Doctor Mirla, Nurse Ingrid, Nurse Milusca, and Psychologist Romina for their assistance and support throughout the week. Their patience and compassion were felt immensely. And lastly, a special shout out to Ms. Yanet and Ms. Rudy for the lovely food all week, and the cleaning crew, Ms. Cristina and Ms. Betty for the pristine accommodations.
The people i met during this retreat will always have a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful for this beautiful opportunity. I wish everyone all the love and understanding in their life journey and highly recommend Etnikas Retreat Center for further introspection and self-reflection! 10/10 <3Written 5 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The chefs, driver Joel, horsemen and porters were the best, happily changing the plan to accomodate our needs and the weather. 10/10!!!!!Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grant GWatford, UK204 contributionsWell where do I start! Viagens were absolutely brilliant. We did a 13 day tour of Peru, visiting many places. Starting in Lima we then went to Paracas; the nature reserve and the Ballestas Islands, Huacachina, Nazca, Arequipa, Puno; Lake Titicava and Taquile island, Route of the Sun, Cuzco, Sacred valley, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu! The level of care and support from all staff was amazing. A big shout for Ana who constantly kept us updates with logistics and all the various guides and drivers who shared so much information on the places we visited. We enjoyed improving our Spanish! A very memorable time! We love Peru!Written 15 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Mary J16 contributionsOur Machu Picchu Viajes- Peru trip was outstanding from start to finish. We leave with beautiful memories of Peru, its people, and culture. This Agency paid attention to detail! Communication was great before and during the trip. Our knowlegeable guides, Cecilia and Sandro, were experts in Incan history and sincerely cared about our comfort and safety.
This was of great importance as we were celebrating our 50th Anniversary. To make our dream of a lifetime come true we stretched the 5 day trip to 9 and treated ourselves to a private tour with rest times in between the sightseeing highlights. Thank you, Fredy and the staff at Machu Picchu Viajes- Peru. We give them the highest recommendation possible.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Exploor team did a great job of putting together an agenda that allowed us to experience the culture, history, and nature of the beautiful areas of Peru. It was nice to know that we were in good, knowledgable hands throughout our adventure, with a team that was on time to pick us up on our travel and tour days. The guides provided a lot of interesting, timely information along the tours and were able to converse seamlessly in both Spanish and English. We were very happy with the Exploor team and how dedicated they were to making sure that we had a fun, informative, and stress-free adventure.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
