I ran early every morning in Cusco on various cobblestone streets and made it a point to cover San Pedro market on my route.

Located about 10mins away by walk from Plaza de Armas, San Pedro Market is a bustling marketplace that reflects the essence of local life. Your visit to Cusco is incomplete without visiting this market.

Vendors display their crafts, food, and textiles. In the late afternoon and evenings, we saw here locals mingle, sharing stories and smiles.

The colors, sounds, and scents of the market in the early morning hours are just to be experienced! The market offers a great opportunity to engage with the community and every purchase supports local families and traditions.

On the New Yeas Eve, everything was decorated in bright yellow color(signifies good luck and prosperity, per the locals). This included even the cats, dogs, alpaca that wore fancy dresses colored yellow. The street balconies were decorated with yellow balloons and ribbons. Wow, truly colorful!

My favorite was the fruit market in the mornings...wheel barrels that were fully loaded with colorful grapes! Coming back home, and when I see the grapes in Costco(produce of Peru), it reminds me of the San Pedro market!

    Tips:
-Visit the market early in morning(must) and evenings(when the lights come on). See the colorful fruits, flowers veggies etc.
    -Take your camera with you.
    - You can bargain the prices . It is a common practice and widely accepted in the market.

It was just a 5mins walk from our hotel. This was a religious center and a sacred place where appreciation was shown for Inti(Inca Sun God).To enter the temple, worshippers needed to have been barefoot, fasting and carrying a heavy load upon their back as a sign of humility to the god. Please visit the place with a local guide.

Very beautiful and serene stop. The entrance ticket covers the whole complex and has so much to see. Sadly you're not able to photograph to remember. Guides are available outside to explain more of what you're seeing, which can be helpful especially if you're not of the Catholic faith. Would definitely recommend.

I love chocolate! So when we found we had an extra day of acclimating before trekking through Peru, I booked the Bean to Bar workshop for my wife and I. Our "Willy Wonka" instructor was fabulous. She was funny, informative, and interacted with our entire group. We completed almost the entire process of making chocolate from picking our our beans, roasting them, peeling, making them into paste, and even more along the way. We had competitions and laughed throughout the tour. In the end, we were provided with our choice of dark or milk chocolate to mold and take home with us.

If you have a couple of extra hours in Cusco and you love chocolate, I highly recommend this tour.

The place has an amazing collection of artefacts, although the presentation gives a bit of an academic impression, educative yet not quite attractive. It could really use a bit of a freshening-up.

The tour will take you from the ground floor to the second one. The markings on the floor are signalling clearly the path one would take around the exhibition, which I found very helpful. At the end of the tour, on the teterrace, there are some merchants offering souvenirs.

Bach on the ground floor, if you're lucky, there will be some demonstration of weaving and crafting.
The highlight for me was at the end of the tour, in a room on the ground floor that is unfortunately easy to miss, where an exhibition of traditional instruments in combined with a live demo of a native man who makes their replicas in his own studio and would play them for you. His instruments are available for purchase, and while these won't be the cheapest souvenirs you could bring back home, they are unique and carefully hand-crafted, on a different level of quality and significance than the mass-produced knick-knacks you'll find in the markets. I whole heartedly recommand this exhibition and the purchase.

The museum is laid out on 2 floors, showing artefacts of various pre-columbian civilisations, organising the exhibit by choice of materials.
The explanations are great to give context to what is displayed. A couple of hours well spent.

Wonderful place. Architectural marvel on top of sacred Inca sights-- but beautiful and interesting even beyond that fact.

We stopped here for hot chocolate and a brownie after reading all of the amazing reviews and we were not disappointed. The brownie was perhaps the best we've ever had in our lives... I wish I could go back to Cusco just to visit Xapiri!

Amazing church which is a bit overwhelming.
It is a sad fact though that this church is part of the invasion of the Spanish.
Do not miss out on this!!
