As an art lover what I expected happened ! When I first looked at it the eclectism style with reliefs pushed me to travel more . I didn’t want to leave the facade of the building just because it kept me looking at it ! I recommend you all to visit !

The Cusco Main Square, or Plaza de Armas, is a spectacle of history and modernity intertwined, a central haven where the pulse of the city is most palpable. This square is a kaleidoscope of culture, where historic cathedrals stand in conversation with the lively buzz of contemporary restaurants and bars. From every corner, eateries of varying degrees of formality beckon, each offering a window seat to the world passing by. Opting for a balcony view, one may find themselves enveloped in the golden hues of an Andean sunset, which, when paired with the culinary delights of local and international cuisine, becomes an experience of sensory splendor.

Though the church tour, at a modest price, may not be the highlight for all, it is a testament to Cusco’s rich spiritual tapestry and a must for those with an appetite for ecclesiastical architecture. The plaza is also a paradise for souvenir hunters, where local artisans offer a medley of crafts that are as colorful as they are emblematic of the region. Beyond the tangible, the Main Square offers a vista that is more than visual; it’s a narrative of the city’s past, present, and future, woven together in the cobbled streets and the silent stories of the Inca and colonial structures. This is a place to linger, to dine, to watch, and to be enveloped in the vibrant tapestry that is Cusco.

Great neighbourhood with lots of beautiful shops displaying artwork. Less busy than the central square. Be sure to walk to the viewpoint for a view of Cusco and the mountains that surround.

This market was fantastic. All the typical obvious things to purchase, so what makes this market so great? Are you a fresh juice person? They will make you anything and everything! Feeling some sort of way, they’ve got a juice for that. There was a stand to get chocolate and coffee to bring home that had great prices. You can get a very inexpensive meal here. Plenty to explore, taste, and shop for!!

I felt so welcomed by Melisa and Carmen. They did not pressure me at all to make a sale and that made me feel more comfortable choosing my sweater. I even left when I felt I needed a night to decide and they didn't make me feel bad at all. I returned the next day to buy it and look at more. They were so gracious and lovely and it was so nice to shop in this store because of them.
Highly recommend! Excellent selection and they make shopping fun 🌸🌼🌹

Wow, what a splendid display of traditional weaving and beyond. Maximo was there and came to say hello to me. Made my day to speak to him about his weaving and learn about his techniques in weaving. If you love color and history pre Inca, this is the place to be. His imagination is endless. Each piece is a story and just so magical in the presentation of color and stitch detail.

In the middle of Cusco you'll find this wall made by the Incas. You're walking and one side you have this old wall, all stones perfectly aligned. There's nothing else to do… just walk, see it and, touch it.

The long street starts at the Municipal Complex downtown, and ends at The Plaza de Armas. It was very close to our hotel, so we had occasion to walk down it, and drive down it several times during our stay in Cuzco.

We found it to be a very busy street filled with Money Exchange Stores, Hair Cutting Stores, Souvenir Stores plus plenty of Restaurants. We felt safe walking up and down, even late in the evening. People seemed very nice and helpful.

Since it is such a busy thoroughfare, everybody gets to see it at least once while staying in this city.

The Christ statue is only a 10-minute walk from the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman. We hiked up here for a good, free workout in preparation for a trip to 5000 meters altitude tomorrow, but we didn't want to pay the 70 soles per person entrance fee to the area with the ancient stones.

(In a few days, we'll experience Machu Picchu, and there we'll surely satisfy our desire to see ancient Inca ruins.)

Instead, we walked over to the Cristo Blanco statue, a 10-minute walk from the ticket booth at the entrance to Sacsayhuaman, and no entrance fee is required for the statue.

Buses full of tourists are dropped off at the statue, and there are sellers of all the usual touristy stuff - all of which affects the experience of the attraction. But Mr. Christ is indeed elevated enough in all his whiteness - and the three dramatic crosses next to him make an even greater impression.

On the way back from Cristo Blanco, it's possible to take some quite good photos into the Sacsayhuaman area. Completely free.

Take your time and stroll along the cobblestoned narrow streets flanked - on both sides - by stonewalls at the awesome "Centro Histórico" of Cusco. These streets are considered masterpieces of the ancient Incan masonry and urban design. They have survived centuries of earthquakes and other natural disasters, principally due to the fantastic Incan architecture and construction techniques. No wonder, Unesco has appointed, in 1983, the historical center of Cusco as a "World Heritage Site"! Unmissable! Enjoy!

I liked this place with some special art designs. Hilario's signature is long neck images with unusual breast placement. Worth a view if you are near by.
