We made a reservation just a day before the tour. We had only three parties totaling five people. This may have helped the quality. I have to say that this was the best group tour in our 2 week South American trip because of the single language (English instead of two languages in a single tour), a great guide, and nicely spread time and visiting places. Both the guide and the driver were really great guys: nice, friendly, and courteous. The guide was very well-informed and fun and provided just right amount of information and contents. Yes, he did what he was supposed to do. Yet, the comparison with other group tours we have had made me evaluate his guide even more highly. Unfortunately, I do not recall his name now. He also seems to speak local language (not Spanish) and told us about his mother raising 12 Cuys. Only shortcoming was the quality of lunch at a mass-eating (for large tourist groups). The Cuy he was proudly (which I totally agree to) presented was not the best to say the least. I had a far better Cuy in an Aguascalientes (or Machu Picchu) restaurant. Even we had to pay more (for a separate fee), we would have preferred to eat at a nicer Cuy special place as we passed by the statue of the King of Cuy where many Cuy restaurants were located. Of course, given the tour price, I understand the location of the lunch. Yet, people travel to Peru not so often. One good meal (local special) is very very precious. If you join this trip, you may want to ask the guide if (with an additional fee) you could go to a different lunch place. This tour made our day. Cusco's New Year's Eve after this one-day tour was the most memorable.
