Amazing cultural and gastronomy experience in Cusco! We had an expert guided tour of the San Pedro market and all of its treasures. I especially liked learning about the different fruits available in Peru and getting to try them later as part of dessert. We loved the ceviche (they were able to accommodate my pregnancy dietary restrictions and I made a delicious mango ceviche). Great relaxed afternoon, would highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful evening with Ronal and his team. We enjoyed learning more about the local cuisine, including visiting the market. We got to try different Peruvian cheeses, fruits and cooked two absolutely amazing dishes. The whole evening was fun, very educating and produced delicious food. I’d definitely recommend taking this class!

Such a fun and interesting thing to do! The best place in Cusco for making your own chocolate. Our workshop host was absolutely brilliant, she had us cracking up the whole time and made the experience even more fun than it would have already been!

We joined the class, guided by Cristina. It was absolutely an interesting and fun experience. We were explained about and shown (and tasted!) Peruvian cuisine staples (fruits, quinoa, potatoes…). Then we had the chance to cook our own ceviche and limo saltado, with in between a pisco tasting and Pisco-based cocktails making session.
Cristina was absolutely an amazing host, kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended.

We had an amazing experience with Fredy! Everything was great from the purchases in the San Pedro market to the class. And most important, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this course, Fredy and his team will make everything they can to make you feel comfortable and will also adapt the menu according to your preferences/allergies.

We had a blast with Alejandro at our Pisco Tasting! He was so knowledgable on the history of Pisco and Peru itself. We enjoyed our tasting and learning to make two different types of Pisco drinks. Alejandro was a blast and such a nice man. Would definitely recommend for couples or groups. Thank you Alejandro!

This experience was fantastic! We walked to the market to purchase produce from local vendors while learning about Cusco. When we returned to ChocoMuseo, we made cerviche, lomo saltado, pisco sours, and had fresh fruit with chocolate for dessert! A night spent laughing and learning. I would highly recommend!

On our final day of our two-week vacation in Peru, before flying home out of Cusco, we ended our trip on the perfect note, at Marcelo Batata. We found out about the classes when we met Jose and Christina on a tour in Manu National Park (the group we were with was staying at the same place as Jose's & Christina's group - they are tour guides, by the way, in addition to running Marcelo - and we were guests on a different tour). We were drawn to chat with them by their friendly personalities, and after finding out about their cooking classes, asked if they could squeeze us in once we were all back in Cusco, and they were happy to set it up.
We couldn't have been happier with the class, because it was not just a class - it was an EXPERIENCE! We cooked, we ate, we learned about Peruvian history and geography, and we got to spend time with this amazing family (Jose's and Christina's) who know so much and are able to share it in a personal, warm, and fun way.
If we are ever back in Cusco, we will be setting up another class with them!

My boyfriend and I did the San Pedro Market Tour and it was amazing!
The tour guy was very helpful and friendly. He picked us up at the hotel and took us to the market to buy some of the ingredients for our class. All fresh ingredients!
He then took us to the venue for our Peruvian cooking class. The place has a terrace with an incredible city view. The class was also really interesting, with very professional young teachers and wonderful food.
Definitely one of the best ways to experience and explore Peruvian food. Highly Recommended!!!

Our cooking classes with Ricardo were so much fun! We hired Ricardo to conduct two cooking classes to thank our organization's volunteers for all the help and hanging in there during the pandemic. In addition, since no one was able to travel, going "global" with the classes, and Ricardo live from Peru, was a real virtual treat. Ricardo consulted with us multiple times and provided all the ingredient lists, so we could make sure our guests had everything they needed in plenty of time for the class. With a winning personality, excellent english, and a true passion for the natural wonders and cuisine of Peru, we were all engaged, enthralled and enjoyed the Lomo Saltado and of course, with Pisco sours. We absolutely recommend Ricardo for both virtual and in-person cooking classes. Thank you Ricardo!
