We have seen churches and cathedrals all over the World. This one is special and unlike any we have seen. We learned about the history of the church and enjoyed our visit.

The old town is very historic and filled with buildings from 300 to 500 years old. You can walk the town. Traffic is bad in this city,

My partner and I decided to visit the Basilica, and we were happy we did. We decided to climb to the top and opted to walk rather than take the elevator, and we thought it was fun to really feel how high up you were going. The views from the top of Quito are magnificent. It’s not the most elaborate or extravagant church we’ve been to, but it was certainly worth it just for the views.

The views of Quito from El Panecillo as "must see" - and the ride to get there is an adventurous uphill climb. We did not walk into the statue but observed it from the ground. There are many touristy shops around the statue and places to grab street food.

A wonderful place!! It's magical... the only thing I really don't like too much it was the weather... it was funny, in the morning sunny and I the afternoon it was cloudy, the rest was perfect!!!

Am not a church fan - but love a view, so we visited mainly to climb up to the bell towers.
The views were great, well worth the entry fee and the climb. Climb was not too steep or far. We also wandered the courtyards, museum and art collection, and exited through the church.
Clean bathrooms always a plus too !

Long, Narrow street with great nightlight, live music, and food. If you want to try some guinea pig there is a couple places that serve it here. Indulge in the culture!

A great place to people watch and soak up the history of this fabulous city. So much to see and learn . Worth visiting more than once. Lots of places to stop and have a snack or a meal.

We arrived at night when the statue was closed, but I don’t think I would have gone up anyway. The Virgen is impressive, even taller than the Cristo Redentor in Rio. Plus great views of the city.

The "actual" Mitad del Mundo, of course, is many places. This particular site is wonderful and offers great displays of indigenous populations. Our guide was delightful and seemed to love showing us the water draining properties on and beside 00.00.00.

This a must for anyone that is visiting Ecuador. I was lucky to go and I don't regret it. You can watch most of its original structure and pass through a richly furnished museum, while an experienced tour guide tells you all you need to know about the history of the Republic. Be sure to schedule the visit beforehand because it's the only way to visit the place.

Another historic building to see in the old town. Be sure to climb up the steps to the towers. It is a great view of the city. Also, there is an interesting ancient brewery worth seeing.

A Jesuit church that is very very ornate with gold leaf throughout. Many icons and cherubs. The church is large and the monks have rooms there.

Metropolitan Cathedral of Quito (Spanish: Catedral Metropolitana de Quito), known simply as la Catedral, is the Catholic cathedral in Quito, Ecuador. Located on the Plaza de la Independencia (La Plaza Grande), it served as a seat of the Diocese of Quito from 1545 until 1848 when it was elevated to Archdiocese. In 1995, it was elevated to the Cathedral of Ecuador, making it the seniormost Catholic church in the country.

It's really just a plaza, but it has a good vibe to it. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within the plaza and with the open area that they have, maybe they do entertainment too.
