Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an incredible introduction to the city. We ate well, loved learning about the culture, food and people and loved seeing so many interesting places that we would never have discovered if left to our own devices. This is so much more than a street food tour; Ernesto and Santi were so passionate about the country, inspirational in their ideas about its development, so committed to celebrating the food, culture and art of Ecuador. We are grateful for a tremendous introduction to Quito. Thank you.

The guides were easy to contact, responsive, flexible with party size. Their English was native speaking-level. Educational and fun tour around central market, with samples of vegetables and dishes. Actually cooking class was a fun group activity, not complicated food, quite yummy. It can be as boozy or not as you want. Got back in time for an afternoon nap, great way to fill a day with a cultural and authentic activity that wasn’t exhausting.

Me and my boyfriend went on their chocolate and coffee tour from Quito. It was incredible! The coffee tour was at a smal local place, with a very friendly guide, and... we even got to roast our OWN coffee!
We learned everything about the cacao, got to see the whole chocolate making process, from the tree to the choclate bar. On top of that, we tasted everything cacao: the cacao fruit, the nibs, all types of chocolate and even did some very unexpected chocolate experiments! The lunch was included! We both got the fish option, which was delicious! Our guide was very knowledgable and nice.

I took my husband here for his birthday as a surprise. It was a lovely way to spend a day outside of Guayaquil (without driving a super far distance). The staff was very friendly, attentive, and thoughtful— they had our names written on a welcome board and surprised my husband with a candle in his dessert. We had a great time tubing, bike riding, making our own chocolate bars, and exploring the property. The food was excellent and so was the sangria! Highly recommended.

We loved our trip to Mindo! It was easily one our favorite days in Ecuador. The guide was so nice and willing to tailor our experience to what ever we wanted. We stopped at the very informative museum of Intiñan, the pululahua volcano, hummingbird sanctuary (with other birds and orchids), a cable car to a waterfall hike, and lastly a chocolate tasting and tour of a very informative chocolate factory. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history and culture of this area. He made us laugh and was extremely polite. Definitely recommended.

The show was absolutely wonderful. The dancing was professionally executed, the costumes were colorful and culturally appropriate and the music was delightful. The live musicians were extraordinarily talented.
The dinner was good. The menu options were good and the food was tasty. The service was pleasant. The most delightful part of the meal was the view. The restaurant is located in an area that allows for a spectacular view of the city with the ability to see the Bascilica and the monument. I will say that a more diverse menu of local food ( rather than hamburgers) would have been ideal. Fortunately there were two local menu options and I chose one of those items, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Overall the experience was good. I highly recommend the show.

Amazing tour with a guide who is more of a friend showing you his favorite parts of his home town rather than than a tour guide giving you facts about the area - Andres definitely knows how to show you a taste of the culture. The tour starts with him picking you up then going to a local coffee roaster who only has four options, light roast, medium roast, dark roast and a bourbon roast; the smells tell you all you need to know and why they don't bother with more options. After that there's a short walk to a coffee producer in an old colonial house and a tasting and a history of chocolate then another walk to the kitchen where you spend the bulk of the time. The kitchen and the chefs altered the menu slightly since someone in the party has gluten allergies and the required twist on the authentic dishes was delicious and well worth the trip. Combined with the coffee and the intimate familiarity with every step that you gain doing the tour I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Due to covid restrictions, we were not able to do a shared tour but were able to set up a private tour to Otavalo Market. What a wonderful day! Andres was prompt and knowledgeable about the tour and gave us great tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip outside of Quito!

Good experience with Nico and Ernesto. They found locations which were open on Sunday’s; this is very hard to do on Sundays
in Catholic heavy Quito. Plan to bring a big appetite as there will be plenty of food and pace yourself.

Firstly, we substituted out the ziplining for extra hiking through the forest as I had a sore back that I didn't want to risk ziplining so my review is for everything else on the trip itinerary. Rebecca Adventure Travel were great with being flexible about changing the trip itinerary to suit what we wanted to do. I also found contacting them via WhatsApp and email to be easy leading up to the trip.

Our guide Fausto picked us up on time in a clean and well maintained vehicle. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic which made for a great day, and his English was fine. We firstly went to a garden to do some birdwatching - saw lots of tanagers and hummingbirds up close and got some great photos, I would highly recommend this if you are interested in wildlife. We then went to Mindo for a chocolate brownie and coffee - both excellent. Afterwards we went hiking in the cloud forest (normally this is when the ziplining would occur), saw some great scenery and waterfalls. The hiking was low intensity but had some hills and slippery sections so would best be enjoyed if you had good boots and a moderate level of fitness. Lunch back in Mindo followed at a local restaurant and was was the traditional 3-course style (soup, main and dessert).

After lunch we went to the butterfly farm - plenty of nice butterflies however if there was anything on the tour that I would skip it would be this, only because lots of the butterflies could also be seen in the forest for free. Our final stop was the Equator Museum which was enjoyable for the short time we spent there, they do some demonstrations which are good fun.

Overall I would highly recommend this tour if you enjoy wildlife and sightseeing, for us it was a great way to spend a free day in Ecuador.

Michael was awesome. We booked the tour with the expectation that it would be a group, but it turned out to be private.
We were picked up on time, Michael was friendly and professional and shared lots of insights about Ecuador and Quito which was very interesting.
We first went to Alambi Reserve to view hummingbirds, WOW there were 100's and many different species, in addition we visited the coffee plantation and enjoyed a coffee with the owner and Michael
Then onto the middle of the earth (both sites). Fun tour here with a different guide, interesting to see the effects the equator has
Finally a stop at a brew pub Sinners where we enjoyed a flight of beer (not Michael as he was driving)
Everything was included including entrance fees and the beer flight, all in all a great way to end our time in Ecuador

This was a fun day trip. It was three events all in one day. We left super early since it takes a few hours to get there. The butterflies were wonderful. Picking them up and learning more about them. Then we went to the cable cars. I was hoping to hike around but it started to pour. So the only waterfalls we got to see was on the drive there. The cable car was nice to be in the clouds and see things from that vantage point. Then lunch at a local restaurant. it was a large meal where the beer was the same price as the water. This was followed by the Chocolate tour. We learned how it was made from bean to bar. We got to taste a dozen different favours including raw beans fresh from the fruit. Then the drive back. It was a long but good day. We saw so much. Our guide that day spoke some english and we made it work and joked at lunch. We even saw the clean up of a mud slide and got stuck in traffic for it.
