What travellers are saying
- Rodney BWaukesha, WI1,115 contributionsMy wife and I walked here since it was really close to our hotel. It is a local food market with three floors of fruits, meats, flowers, vegetables and many other foods. Many locals were eating here and this is the place to buy fresh and cooked foods. This is not a tourist market, but was a fun look into the local culture.Written 1 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Andrea SDoha, Qatar162 contributionsI go here because there are various options for food, but it always seems ghostly quiet. So if you want to go away from everyone it is a great place.Written 6 December 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Stalin ReynaIbarra, Ecuador5 contributionsMy visit to the capital of Ecuador, Quito was one of the best experiences that happened since being the capital of our country is a very important place in the world.
Besides being an attraction for being in the center of the world and for its magnificent tourist places, it has one of the best movie theaters.
Cinemark is one of these because it is a really big and comfortable place, the movie VIP room has a big differential from a normal one. Even to wait for the movie, you have sofas to enjoy the good food that is served on site.
If you visit Quito and like the world of cinema and movies, I recommend you visit Cinemark theaters, you will enjoy their good quality sound a lot, comfort you will feel a satisfaction out of another world, do not forget to visit Cinemark.Written 9 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Fabián RBogota, Colombia22 contributionsHave diferent stores, includes a Supermarket where you can find lot of basic products, and a good food court, with varouis vendors and many tables. - heyjudithzKnoxville, TN1,498 contributionsKnown to locals as the Crystal Palace, the cultural center is made of glass, steel, and zinc, and is situated in such a way as to not need lighting during the day. Originally the Santa Clara Market, it was moved to its present location in pieces, after having been in use elsewhere in Quito since 1920. Building components were imported from Hamburg, Germany. It houses meeting and event space. Even if you aren't going there to experience an event, it is worth seeing. It sits atop the hill of Itchimbia, the site of an aboriginal settlement, dedicated to the worship of the gods, with emphasis on Inti.Written 8 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Tyler P45 contributionsWow! Wonderful hats made by a third-generation hat maker on-site. We bought Panama hats of superior quality for a bargain! My wife's hat was truly unique. We were so tempted to take more hats home than we could reasonably transport!Written 29 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JouAriasMexico City, Mexico6 contributionsThis place have many options to buy handicrafts and gifts for your family at least 20% less than in Mercado Mariscal, And is so close to Mariscal bus station. I think the local is 500 Global is the name of the agency. 100% specially for backpackers.Written 5 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands3,142 contributionsMany medium sized shops, banks, health center and other facilities, easily accessible by car and public transportation (NW corner Carolina park). As far as food is concerned there are many fast food options like McD, KFC, Burgerking and Ecuadorian versions of the same. There is a food court with at least one vegetarian option (Go Green), Sushi restaurant, Arab and Italian outlets, but most eateries offer (unhealthy) fast food. Did not see Chinese, Thai or Indian restaurants. Prices are medium to upmarket. There is a Supermaxi on the ground floor.
Overall a pleasant mall, also early evenings.Written 19 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - AndeancookQuito, Ecuador4 contributionsPlease look at the YouTube and you will see Carole. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands3,142 contributionsClean compared to other markets in the city, this market is located in San Roque not far (west) from the iglesia de San Francisco. Fresh vegetables and fruit, meat, fish, flowers and plants, herbs, bread and other bakery products, daily necessities locals are in need of, all for sale in large rooms. There is a food court (patio de comidas) open till about 3PM.
Remarkable is the nativity scene depicting ordinary life with many images of people working.Written 27 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
