Shopping Malls
Costanera Center opened its doors in June of 2012 in Providencia, one of Santiago’s most happening neighborhoods. With more than 197,000 square meters of floor area, it is Chile’s and Latin America’s largest mall and one of the most important on the continent. Thanks to its location, connection with the community and access to public transportation, it is easily accessible from many different parts of Santiago. Visitors love the more than 300 stores distributed throughout six thematically-organized floors including exclusive boutiques and the best international brands such as H&M, Banana Republic, Gap, Topman, Aristocrazy, Hugo Boss, Guess and Zara, among others. An exclusive benefits program called “On Tour Costanera Center” is available to foreign tourists. The discount bracelet opens the door to enticing offers at more than 100 stores. To register, go to the On Tour booth on the second floor of the mall, show your foreign passport or ID and enjoy the program s benefits. Costanera Center also has a wide variety of the best culinary options including a strip with different types of restaurants, a 2,000 person capacity food court, 12 Premium movie theaters and a supermarket, in addition to other services. And that is not all... Sky Costanera was recently opened on the upper floors of the tower. This highest observation deck in Latin America is 300 meters high and is the only one with a 360-degree view of Santiago. Sky Costanera is open every day of the year, except state holidays, and offers free guided visits in three languages. Costanera Center has undeniably become a Santiago icon and is a must-see for locals and tourists alike.

I went promptly at 10AM on w Wednesday when the ticket office opened. There was no line to buy tickets. As a foreigner I could not get the website to accept any of my credit cards.

Lovely park with many places to rest and explore. Beware the steps are uneven and coated with sand so use the handrails and ascent/descend slowly. The view at the top is wonderful. There were two concession trucks in the park when we visited and there was only one entrance off of Merced Street open with a guard requiring you to sign in. Didn’t see any restrooms.

We visited Sky Costanera in March 2024 after 6pm until 9pm to watch the sunset and have drinks at 300 Sky Bar. It was a great way to see the city and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

We recommend visiting in the evening and March is quiet time of year - not many visitors.

This tour was wonderful! The guide (Janice) was so personable and made it so fun! We have been on a lot of winery tours, but this one had the most interesting history and little museum attached with the tour to spin a wonderful tale that we all lost track of the time! What a great way to spend an afternoon in Santiago on a layover (or just to hang out)!!

    Cheers! Everything was wonderful!

I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of Pablo Neruda (nor did I know much about him and his life), but I went to this museum anyway… and ended up really enjoying it! I learned about his life and work, and loved the artsy, eclectic house. I highly recommend a visit whether you’re a fan of Neruda or not!

This is a beautiful church that is located in the Plaza De Armas. The church itself has much history with beautiful frescas, statues and alters. The signage is only in Spanish which was disappointing. There might be an audio tour option but we didn’t see anything offered. You only need 20 or so minutes to walk around. Unfortunately, the area outside is near the park that it is filled with unsavory characters waiting to take advantage of unaware tourists! Mind your belongings and always be aware of your surroundings.

The guided tour was extremely interesting. It took about an hour and a half but was well worth the time. It both explained how the Pinochet regime happened and how Chile emerged from it - through letting democracy work

Even though this is not one of the free museums of the city and costs about 10 dollars for tourists, it is well worth the cost. Has an excellent display of artifacts including two or three mummified infants. Sadly, no explanations in English but you will find this in many South American city museums. Just looking at the pottery, tools and jewelry is worth a visit. This museum is around the corner from the Cathedral of the city.

The view at the top of the tallest building in South America is amazing. It gives a complete idea of the city. We visited while on a city tour and the guide could show us the entire valley and surrounding mountains.

Nice park with many amenities for children and active lifestyles. A beautiful rose garden and Thai-themed area and some nice views of tall buildings against the backdrop of mountains. A nice to do if you are in the area and looking for a nice walk on a nice day.

Be sure to find the internal courtyard(s) - it's easy to walk by because some of the nearby streets/entrances aren't clear. The interior of at least one of these blocks is full of all kinds of cool restaurants and bars! Go find it!
