Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kensington25London94 contributionsI recommend visiting Kranji War Memorial. It is an emotional experience particularly when you are the only visitor in the cemetery.
Seeing the graves of so many young servicemen who lost their lives certainly puts life in perspective.
There are two cemeteries here - a military one and a civilian one.
The cemetery is kept in immaculate condition and cared for by dedicated team who work there.
They were also very helpful and friendly in guiding me to the graves of two former Singaporean Presidents.
I took a taxi from Orchard Road and the journey was about half an hour and cost about $20. I returned on the MRT and it took just under an hour.
I recommend a visit here whether on your own or as part of a tour. I am most grateful to the amazing care takers who take such care of the graves and grounds.
Please do visit.Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Starting out from the bus stop Aft Kheam Rock Road, I soon bumped into a small group guided by a friends of Bukit Brown who invited me to join their tour. I learned a lot about the history of Singapore and immigration which can be told at hand of the graves and the inscriptions. As a Westerner, I had and would have had no idea. Claire, the guide was like a walking encyclopedia. Thank you very much for 'adopting' me to the group. There must be a tremendous amount of volunteer work going into preserving this gem without any official support. I hope many people discover this remote gem and help to preserve this green island with a great heritage. Lots of graves are still overgrown but some have been cleared. With all the jungle, there are tons of bird and we even spotted a Molitor lizard on a 8m tree top. There are some trees in a grove that are said to have inspired the Avatar movie scenes.
Quite an experience in such a high-tech town. And thanks to the friends of Built Brown for the hospitality to join the tour and share the wealth of Singapore heritage and history.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Starts back in early singapore.Written 22 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a tomb (I’m guessing it’s more of a cenotaph) to mark the grave of Sultan Iskandar Syah. I couldn’t help but admire the devotion and respect the Malay still accord this place and keep it in such good condition. I wouldn’t go out of the way to visit this unless you’re going to Fort Canning Park though.Written 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jolyon67Melbourne, Australia5,668 contributionsThese two little cemeteries are next to each other just across the street from the Arab Quarter. Hundreds of headstones poke out from deep undergrowth. These two parks are in dire need of some tender loving care. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent, I was badly bitten as I wandered the grounds. Some of the larger mausoleums have columns and ornamental domes, There are even some Sultans buried here. The monuments with yellow cloth tied around their top are the most important, yellow signifying royalty. It is a shame that few people visit here and it is so forgotten.Written 2 May 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
