Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Inevitably, we'd been drawn by its appearance on the Skyfall 007 movie; but we found a visit to Gunkanjima gave a real insight into life in Japan in the 1950s & 60s.
We travelled with Gunkanjima Concierge, who were excellent. Visiting the digital museum ahead of the trip was invaluable to provide a good context. Commentary on the boat and around the island was in Japanese, but we were given detailed transcripts which gave a thorough background to the history of mining on the island. The guides went out of their way to offer extra information in English for us.
    Highly recommended!

Lots of young people and tourists. Very close to central Tokyo. Overall, Enoshima is a lively place. The Great Buddha of Kamakura locates nearby and many other interesting spots to visit along the Enoden (local train).

I went there with my friends, it was a great experience but it is kind of hard for the rabbits there.

If you ever visit this place be careful and kind to the rabbits. They will rush at you if they are hungry.

Iriomote is a remote island in Okinawa Prefecture but it's not that difficult to visit. Visitors first, must fly into Ishigaki then take a ferry to one of two ports on Iriomote. I stayed in Uehara, where the the star sand beach is and it was beautiful. I took a kayak and trek tour for a day and got to drive around the island a bit. The beauty of this island is amazing. Lush jungle, huge mangrove forests, towering waterfalls, Iriomote has it all. I love the fact that most the island is national park and people take great care of the island and wildlife that call Iriomote home. There are signs everywhere regarding the Iriomote cat and to be cautious while driving. Chances are, you won't see the cat but you never know. The beaches on the island were magnificent as well. Many beaches were full of trash which is unfortunate. I plan on coming back here do to the hike through the island. This will forever be one of my favorites places in Japan.

A full on day got the Train to Uno, then the ferry to Naoshima, they have a small bus which can take you to the various art Galleries on the Island, cost Y100 for ride, we took the bus to last stop and then the free bus to Chicu Art Museum, and work our way back to the port, we got to the main Art Galleries,
Chichu Art Museum, Lee Ufan Museum, Valley Gallery, Benesse House and Tadao Ando Museum, run out of time to do the smaller art house projects

I stayed on Zumami Island for three days and had a fabulous time here! The island is absolutely beautiful! I took the two hour ferry ride over from Naha which was pleasant. I took my bike with which was cheap. I suggest brining a bike as it's a great way to get around the island. But a few of the beaches are within walking distance from town. There is so much to do and see here. I primarily went to the beaches for snorkeling and saw sea turtles and a lot of other marine wildlife. The Kerama Blue color of the water was gorgeous, I was even here on cloudy days and it was still amazing. I really hope I will be back here for some more snorkeling and diving. It's easy to get to from Naha, so why not visit?

We visited a couple of months ago this stunning island, Hate no Hama! 😍🗾 is an uninhabited island located approximately 5 km away from Kumejima, Okinawa 🏝

Hate no Hama Is made up of 3 Islands:
    🏝“Menuhama”
    🏝”Nakanuhama”
    🏝”Hatinuhama”

Is so beautiful that has appeared several times in commercials and even in Google!

It’s a place that I consider you should put on your bucket list ☺️❤️🇯🇵

Tour with a private taxi around the island is recommended. It takes about three hours to go and back to the start.

You need around 1.5 hour to walk the whole park and take many pictures. There's a field with early and late blooming cosmoses, both were in bloom on 1st November 2021. The lawns are great for relaxing and having a picnic. Admission is very expensive for a park-1200 yen, and the bus from the ferry terminal costs 240 yen one way, plus the ferry from Fukuoka to Nokonoshima is 260 yen one way, so it adds up. There's a great sunset view from the park though, and the whole area is at the highest point on the island, so you get many great photo spots in almost all directions.

So-called Ninety-nine Islands are actually composed of 208 islands. "Ninety nine" means "many". We can enjoy the beautiful view from many angles. There are observatories on mountains and hills. Also, you can get on "Kujuuku-shima Cruising" to enjoy view from ocean cruising among islands.

If you want to have a relaxed day off near Motobu, you can go visit Minna Island. The Island has a beautiful beach and very clear water. If you're looking for colorful coral riffs and fish I wouldn't recommend the island tho, since there are no real snorkeling possibilities at the beach itself. You can book a snorkeling tour, but this costs another ca. 4.000 Yen per person. The island has a some shops where you can get food, drinks and ice-cream. So you don't have to bring your own food. Right were you arrive you can borrow umbrellas for 1.000 yen per day (which you will definitely need). To get to the island you have to take a ferry from Toguchi-Port. The Price for the ferry is ca. 2.000 Yen per person round trip.

We caught the sunset at the beach and it was beautiful! As it was the winter season, the sun set early at about 5:35 pm. It turned dark soon after so the crowd cleared off pretty quickly. We had an early al fresco dinner before the sun set and that was pretty cool.
