Outside potala this was my favorite monastery specifically for the windy road and views you get of the monastery and the views from the monastery are truly spectacular and worth the drive!
Ganden Monastery is an imposing and very busy working monastery with far fewer surging hordes of tourists than Potala, therefore there is more time and space to see and absorb the sights and events.
