Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The former Police Married Quarter (PMQ) in Central was restored and repurposed as a creative and design focused shopping venue in Central back in 2014. You won't find the typical luxury and international brand name shops here However. This is a social project whereby affordable space has been set aside for local entrepreneurs, seeking to showcase and grow their businesses as art courses, galleries, lifestyle and consumable products, clothing, fashion, jewellery and all manner of creative shops. There are a couple of casual eateries and coffee shops as well.

In short, if you want to see local Hong Kong brands, there are around 100 small shops that line the floors at PMQ. There are also large scale seasonal decorations along with occasional exhibitions and events that have made for interesting experiences and reasons to visit PMQ over the years. You'll find PMQ along Aberdeen Street in Central. Shops have respective opening hours but are generally open from late morning until evening each day. The venue can be a bit crowded during midday weekends and public holidays but is usually far less crowded than our higher end malls.

These are my go-to tailors in Hong Kong. At their old location they were a bit of a hidden gem, easily lost among the lower quality competitors in the neighborhood. Their new location is a proper showroom and in my opinion reflects their position amongst the best tailors in Asia. Well lit, tidy, and a unique viewing area to watch the tailoring in real time.
I’ve dealt with a number of bespoke tailors over the years and Empire’s staff has mastered the art of listening to the customer, understanding that customers unique knowledge and wants, and then using their experience in an additive manner. This is not found everywhere, even at some of the well known (and much more expensive) bespoke tailors in Europe that try to push their own style. The result that follows is quality clothes that makes you feel confident and comfortable. I’d recommend these guys to my best mate or most casual business colleague with no hesitation.

Amazing selection. Honest, passionate and inspirational shop. This shop carries a wide range of whiskies, gin, cognac and what must be the most complete collection of Laberdolive Armangac in Hong Kong, if not the world!! The full range of spirits is mind-blowing, and the staff are all friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended for any amateur to the most sophisticated connoisseur.

This is the only shopping mall in Repulse Bay. Surprisingly not touristy, it is actually a pretty cool place with plenty of areas to meander. Shops mainly cater to residents nearby and dining options are fine. Great stop when around the beach.

My husband and I came here on our first day in Hong Kong. We absolutely love tea and were very excited - it did not disappoint. It is hard to find from the outside but once we got in Vanessa was so kind and talked us through the different teas, the makings, and their process. We did two food pairings which was amazing to taste the difference of the tea with the food - like wine and cheese pairing, very interesting. we really enjoyed the quality, the experience, and the friendliness!

The location of Chungking Mansion is excellent! There are many guesthouses/hostels inside with great competition between them. Therefore, the room prices are low (except for holidays). The currency exchange stores offer very good exchange rates. There’re some food shops there but they’re not my cup of tea. Don’t be scared by the people standing at the entrance. Don’t expect much on the room conditions also.

    Note:
However, Chunking Mansion's reputation is poor and many travelers avoid it. Some operators take this opportunity and run youth hostels/guesthouses/hostels (with so-called dorms and private rooms) inside old “Mansions” in other areas (e.g. Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Jordan, Yau Ma Tei) but they're even much worse (especially 3-level bunks youth hostels in Wan Chai and Jordan area). Remember this and thank me later.

I recommend Vijay and his team for their professionalism. I made a custom suit and my civil wedding dress with them. I showed them a simple photo of a model on a catalog and they made this outfit a reality so thank you to them for their talent, their patience and especially their speed to deliver the final result! I will come back without hesitation! Go there with your eyes closed you will not be disappointed!

I selected Rashmi to make a suit for my son after reading through an expat living guide and checking reviews for multiple tailors. Rashmi was very welcoming and professional, and took a detailed set of measurements for a two-piece suit and shirt. After three days we returned to collect a perfectly tailored suit and shirt. Only one set of measurements and one fitting required! I would recommend Rashmi to anyone needing a quality bespoke suit; his prices beat off-the-rack Nordstrom/Bloomingdale’s in America.

Another market area we stopped at while walking around Kowloon. This is a few city blocks of pet stores, with many of them displaying their fish in plastic bags. Incredible sight to see as a tourist. Lots of other aquatic animals like turtles, frogs and axolotls too. Super interesting to walk through.

Vintage Maze is a neat place with an eclectic collection of old toys, vintage clothing, household items and decorations, coins, badges, accessories and interesting old and odd things to look at. It is a bit kitsch and a lot of vintage bundle of curiosities, worth a look-see if you plan to do a bit of shopping at The One or are in TST and have interest.

Vintage Maze is located on the 6/F of The One shopping mall in TST. Opening hours are 12pm to 9pm daily.
