Excellent location, facilities, cultural activities, and program management. They have a variety of options that fit your needs, which is especially helpful as a working professional looking to take parttime classes. There are also numerous fulltime courses that students are using to prepare for the official HSK tests.

They always seem to be quite organized as well - all of the classes go off without a hitch and are very well planned by their administrative team. The teachers were quite professional as well, teaching about topics relevant to your needs instead of a standard lesson.

    Highly recommended!

This past July, my 11-year-old child took part in a four-week Chinese summer camp hosted by Mandarin Zone in Beijing. As a parent, I was truly impressed by both the program’s organization and the progress my child made, so I’d like to share our experience.

    Class Content & Teaching Methods
Every morning, the camp offered structured Chinese lessons. Under the patient guidance of the instructors, my child quickly picked up common vocabulary and basic grammar within just a few days. Because students came from all over the world, the classroom was dynamic and interactive, featuring games, role-playing, and conversation exercises. This fun approach really helped my child gain confidence and develop a keen interest in learning Chinese.

    Cultural Immersion & Afternoon Activities
Afternoons were devoted to cultural experiences. The school organized visits to famous historical landmarks in Beijing, including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven, which gave the kids a firsthand look at China’s rich history. They also arranged traditional crafts like paper-cutting, origami, and lessons in Chinese calligraphy. For my child, holding a brush and practicing this artistic style of writing was an entirely new and exciting challenge—one that deepened his appreciation for the beauty of Chinese characters.

    Modern City Charm
Beijing isn’t just steeped in history; it’s also highly modern. Getting around town was incredibly convenient, thanks to the city’s widespread cashless payment systems—all handled via smartphone. We also found Beijing to be very safe. The camp is located near the embassy district, which felt secure and comfortable, even when we strolled around at night.

    Food & Lifestyle
With countless dining options from every region of China, Beijing is a paradise for food lovers. From traditional Peking duck to snacks from other provinces, my child wanted to try something new every day. This culinary adventure didn’t just excite him; it also motivated him to practice his Chinese by ordering food and chatting with servers about their recommendations.

    My Child’s Progress
What surprised me the most was how much his Chinese skills improved in just four weeks. Before arriving, he only knew a few greetings from online lessons, but by the end of the program, he could hold simple conversations with my Chinese colleagues. This improvement wasn’t just linguistic—he also became more confident and outgoing.

I work in Beijing, and when my family came to visit, I arranged a 3-hour painting class with Richard. Both my sixteen year-old cousin and 60 year-old mother greatly enjoyed the workshop. They found Richard's class informative and inspiring. My family felt the experience of discovering what it means to paint with the entire body and mind was inspiring. After class, he had lunch with my family and helped them get a taxi back to their hotel. This was incredibly helpful to me, because I was at work. All in all, my cousin and mother found Richard kind and passionate, and we all recommend Richard's classes.

My flight arrived an hour late so the company had to adjust my schedule but i had the best time on the layover tour including the Great Wall, Forbidden City and the Pandas at the Zoo. I was blown away by the wonderfully descriptive and interactive itinerary that was prepared and everything was fun, educational, safe, and quite reasonably priced.Jenny the guide was exceptional she touched on just enough of the important history about the places we visited and was willing to give endless photo moments i really have to put it out there. Highly recommend these guys for your layover tour it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
