What travellers are saying
- Smallove LTaipei, Taiwan59 contributionsI met a couple from South Africa & Milan who found a old Chinese master to guide this historic place. The old master doesn't speak any English so I become the temporary interpreter.
I have to say this place is really full of history if you can here the stories behind the stones. Each name engraved on the tombstone has different story and all are so influential in the old time China. The old master is so knowledgeable and I can barely translate the story into English Q_Q... The European couple also surprise me because they can read Latin so can read the words on the tombstones. It is really a wonderful experience.
For those who want to visit this place, here are some tips:
1, Tell the security guard that you want to see the tombstones of the missionaries. They will open the gate of the campus for you. You may also print out my following words and show it to them: "你好, 我想去参观外国传教士的墓地, 可以帮我开门吗?" (Hello, I'd like to visit the missionaries' tombs. Could you please open the ate for me? )
2. The gate of the tomb should be closed in the normal time. If you want to go inside to look, you may call the old master Shen (you can find his phone number in James L's post) to see if he is available. However, he speaks only Chinese... But if you can find someone who can interpret for you, it would be fantastic.
3. No fee I paid. And I don't think you need to pay any tip to old master if he come.Written 5 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - rsentenoPhoenix, AZ317 contributionsIt's basically the burial tomb that's underground and a small museum documenting his life and the very gory process of being an eueith it's very quite amazing carvings

- Andrew M7,160 contributionsWe were waiting t the Fengbo Station bus stop when we noticed the beautiful pagodas in the cemetery. If you look up the road to the right of Fengbo Station, follow it in northerly direction. It was a little difficult to locate the entrance, but we eventually found an open gate and strolled the grounds and took photos of not only the pagodas, but the beautifully manicured grounds and the ancient styled gates.
It appears that revolutionary fighters against Japanese occupation were buried here, but as there was no english, we were unable to locate the military graves. This is definitely not a place that is regularly visited by tourists, but you are in the area, a short visit will give a view of local architecture and culture.Written 18 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
