Fabulous area but one review below says jianbing 25rmb. If you pay this there you are being RIPPED OFF. Jianbing should be about 7rmb, and never more than 10 unless adding an ‘extra’ like chicken strips, even then 15 max. Research real local prices before shopping there.

Popular optical shop in Beijing, selling quality eyewear and sunglasses at competitive prices and offering additional services such as professional eye-sight tests, consultations, glasses repair, and guaranteed after-sales service.
The shop stocks a selection of notable brand eyewear such as Masunaga, Matsuda, Ptolemy 48, Silhouette, Play, Ports, Essilor, and Kawakubu as well as more mainstream options from the likes of Armani, Oakley, Gucci, Zeiss, and Monster. There's also a range of handmade wooden and bamboo framed sunglasses.
Glasses (including frames and lenses) start at RMB 199, and lenses with from Zeiss and Essilor feature some discounts. Prescription glasses can be made to order in about half an hour.
The store recommends visiting Monday to Friday to avoid the weekend crush.

I planned on discovering new types of teas while in China. When I went to Maliandao Tea Market with a private guide I was surprised at the numerous stalls/sellers l. There were hardly any tourists or local shoppers. We decided to go into one at random and the owner greeted us. From there we asked what the specialties were. She asked what we were interested in. We ended up having a tea tasting of flavors suggested by her. After some price negotiating my friend and I walked away with 3 types.

It helps to be fluent in Mandarin or have someone with you who does. Otherwise it wouldn’t be worth your while to go unless you don’t intend to bargain.

It becomes more beautiful now, clean, tidy and quiet for reading books. Not so many visitors, you may walk around to pick and read easily, enough space, just a bit too formal comparing with other book stores, like a library and last but not least, don’t miss the food court in underground floor, plenty choices of good food with nice service at reasonable price.

Though this tea house is famous for tea, my friend and I opt for their equally famous green tea ice cream. It costs CNY 9 and it is very delicious. Be expected a long queue to buy your tasty ice cream!

I was amazed by the design and quality of cloth this store sells. Moreover, the store itself is a masterpiece: amazing, modern and well-designed interior, eye-cathing showcase and English-speaking (!!!) sellers (very very VERY rear thing in Beijing). Couldn’t stop myself from buying T-shirts and sweatshirts and got 5 in total for me and my friends (One for free was also a “cherry on top” to my overall impression of this store). And I will come by today for more! as I coudn’t find any better offers from other local brands. Perfect match of value for money.. My respect to the owner! From Russia with love🖤

I have been here many times, and actually enjoy the negotiations with the store owners. If you don't like bartering than this isn't the place for you.

I expected more. I have a decathlon next to my hotel which is great. Next to ikea. Its not listed on google for some reason. Also a uniqlo there. I saw the reviews for the outlet which is further away from my hotel n decided to check it out. Was disappointed. First of all its not an outlet. There were no discounts at all! Its a big branch. So was the one next to my hotel. There was not much difference n they had the same stock. Same prices. Go to the branch closest to u dont waste your time coming here especially as the traffic in beijing is horrendous! N there are no discounts. I dont think they understand the word outlet in china.

Right next to a churrus shop, this places sells tubs of milk curd thst tastes like creamy custard flavoured with various things such as mango, red bean and oatmeal. You get a free ice tea as well, which has a very distinctive smokey flavour. I was not that keen but I was really impressed by the 'cheese' sold here, very yummy indeed.

Visited the Nuoyan Rice Wine distillery with our son as a special treat. The wines were excellent and the sparkling wine a worthy rival to some champagne. Joyce, our guide introduced us to the owner who shared his passion for good quality wine. We tried 6 different wines initially and then sampled 2 special wines. All very smooth and polished. Joyce matched the wines with food which enhanced the whole experience. A fantastic night .

Recommended for foreign and local residents. Book offer is very extensive (yes, they have 5 floors crowded with books, but only few in English or other languages), all genres can be found here; including Music CDs, DVD, BluRays, etc. We really suggest you to take a look and visit it; just to break the usual weekend shopping walk everybody does. Located nearby Xidan Shopping Mall area, Subway Line 1 - Xidan Station. No parking lot but you can also get by public bus.

A very good choice to introduce high end teas to family and friends, the contemporary design and brand are more appealing than the traditional products. Try out the functional teas. Friendly, English speaking staff

We were meandering the Shichahai district and accidentally came upon this historic post office with lovely sculptures.

Inside there is a pictorial museum.

We actually sent 10 post cards to the US, and only 8 arrived almost two months later. I treasure the one we sent ourselves 💕

Not a big tea fan personally but the wife is.

I found the demonstration to be quite informative. I actually enjoyed 2 of the four samplings.

We bought some too and I thought it was a bit pricy.

Wife was pleased so I guess it was OK.

    Cute little cups as well.

This mall is on the corner of Jinyu Hutong and Wangfujin Pedestrian mall.

It has similar high end shops and some good restaurants on the upper floors - went to "Yum Yum Flavour" restaurant for lunch yesterday.

What made an impression was funny toilet sign close to the restaurant - I chuckled as I left the building.

This is one of many malls to explore in this part of Beijing.
