What travellers are saying
- rosentelBournemouth, UK250 contributionsIt is hard to truly appreciate these immense structures until you are standing next to them, we were fortunate to have an excellent guide, Mego who was so knowledgeable and was able to fully explain everything we wished to know and more. There is a LE450 charge to clamber into the largest pyramid, but there isn't anything as such inside. The second pyramid has a LE100 charge which has an empty coffin inside. It's an excellent experience but be prepared for the locals offering their wares, as much as it fun with these guys it can feel a little bit intimidating so stay calm, enjoy and maybe you'll have a special item to take home and remember a great visitWritten 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MsPearl105Weldon, NC771 contributionsYou’ve read it about it in travel magazines. Heard about it in history class. Seen it on television. But to actually see it in person, touch it, walk on and inside it is sensational! I am grateful for the opportunity to visit and learn more about who and how the Great Pyramid was built. The other Pyramids are spectacular, too.
Even is the distance, the Pyramids can’t mandate attention. They are examples of the human will, genius, innovation, and hard work!Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ali IbrahimGiza, Egypt5 contributionsThe sphinx is very huge having the body of a lion and the face of a human to protect the pyramids, great experience.Written 29 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- scotdoc2015Birmingham, UK131 contributionsGreat place for all your photos for memory. Good place for gifts and camel rides. You will end up taking most photos here.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sally JMartinsburg, WV410 contributionsI guess no one comes to Egypt and misses seeing the pyramids at Giza.
A wonderful sight.
We got there pretty early in the morning, which is probably advisable: it wasn't too hot or too crowded.Written 27 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Hyoga83Bordeaux, France657 contributionsYet another amazing monument to visit in awesome Saqqara. From the outside it is an extremely beautiful and well conserved pyramid, although NOT red haha.
You can visit the interior, although I would probably recommend just choosing 3 or 4 so maximum so you don't overdue it -and I don't mean only from a physical point of view...
Beside one of the bases, east side I think, you have a replica of the pyramidion that would have once been at the tip, covered with electrum (mix of gold and silver)Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - njoy_travellingSan Diego, CA71 contributionsBased in Memphis, this statue of King Ramses is horizontally placed and you can see all the intricate details carved on the face and clothes worn. It's definitely worth visiting this statue while in Cairo.Written 28 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Les De QUtrecht, The Netherlands1,558 contributionsThe valley of the whales reveals a whole unknown side the Egypt. A cost to the history centre and a walk through, is a great way to experience yet another face of Egypt.Written 5 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RB2 contributionsI've been waiting to visit the Art Centre since the pandemic began and wasn't disappointed. The staff are all informative and kind--and the artists are uninformatively passionate. I was hugely impressed by their dedication to quality and traditional weaving. For instance, all the dyes used in the tapestries and weavings are *grown* and harvested from plants, such as indigo, at the Centre.
Egypt, unfortunately, is awash with cheap imported crafts. Don't miss your chance to support creative, local artists from Cairo !Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - podrozniczka60New Jersey14,331 contributionsIt is the smallest of the "family pyramids" and the death of the ruler preceded the completion. It was constructed of limestone and Aswan granite. The interior was not open during our trip.
in 12th century Saladin's son and the Sultan of Egypt attempted to destroy and demolish the pyramid but it proofed to be impossible. The vertical gash at its northern face is a reminder of the sultan's effort.Written 7 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ross HChristchurch, UK139 contributionsvisited on a weekday in April, park got busier as the day went on. A few rides not operating, with no infomation if or when they might be available, not all rides operating from opening either. Unfortunately the larger roller coaster wasn't open when we went, but the smaller two were.
Most of the signs on park are in both English and Arabic, so no problem for us tourists. Most of the staff can speak functional English too.
Vatious types of entry ticket available from 130LE (£6.50gbp) to 260LE (£13gbp) which includes vouchers for paid for rides.
The larger rides incur an additional charge of between 30LE (£1.50gbp) and 40LE (£2gbp), with go karts at 50LE (£2.50gbp).
Compared to europeon parks, theming and operations quite basic.
We didn't queue for more than 10mins for anything except Horror Citadel.
The park could do with some major investment, for example the dark ride is rather light as gaps in the external cladding.
I guess with the economic and general lack of tourism, this would have a bearing on park investment
Horror Citadel - additional cost of 70LE (£3.50gbp)
We didn't know what to expect, when we entered the slow moving queue for Horror Citadel, however worth the wait. Even with doing many similar attractions in the UK, this impressed us.
I'm not going to detail the experience, as always best to experience without knowing.
Brief walkthrough into a 4D cimema, which is a great "warm up" to the main walkthrough complete with live actors.... certainly many of the group where petrified so not for the faint hearted.....
Best atraction on parkWritten 5 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SorayaRenyCork, Ireland59 contributionsI had the privilege of seeing the black desert. It is covered in black rocks said to have been the result of volcanic activity millions of years ago.Written 18 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
