Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Elitsa N2 contributionsThe Pyramids of Giza are incredible! They’re massive and really cool to see up close. The Great Pyramid was the tallest building in the world for over 3,000 years, which is insane. The Sphinx is also there, and it looks kind of creepy but awesome. The whole area is full of history, and it feels like stepping back in time. It’s a little crowded with tourists, but it’s totally worth it. Definitely a must-see!Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AMsaysThornhill, Canada5,034 contributionsThe Great Pyramid of Cheops is utterly phenomenal and much larger than you would expect from photos. It is inconceivable that it was built so precisely so many years ago without the technology that we are so reliant on nowadays. Built for King Khufu around (c.2589–2566 BC) it retains that aura of magnificence that doesn’t do it justice in photos or on screen. I’m so glad I went when this opportunity presented itself. Wow, justifiably an UNESCO World Heritage Site.Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AMsaysThornhill, Canada5,034 contributionsOne of the world’s largest and most recognizable limestone monoliths, this giant 4,500-year-old statue, is near the Great Pyramid and the Khafre Pyramid. They make a formidable sight. It is 240 feet (73 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high. The Great Sphinx was created around 2500 BC for Pharaoh Khafre, then carved from the plateau’s bedrock. The Great Sphinx was revealed as a male with a pharaoh’s headdress in the guise of a spiritual guardian, like those found in tombs and temples all around and especially complexes like Sphinx Alley in Upper Egypt. An immense sight that left me speechless for minutes...Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AMsaysThornhill, Canada5,034 contributionsKhafre’s Pyramid is the second largest of the Pyramids of Giza. I was just in awe as I looked at this magnificent structure built so many years ago. The pyramids were built to ensure that their smooth, angled sides symbolizing the sun’s rays and would help the Pharaoh’s soul ascend to heaven and join the gods. The continued existence of the pyramids after 4,000 years is a testament to their mastery of precision, ingenious craftmanship and architectural insight. It is really an incomprehensible sight.Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AMsaysThornhill, Canada5,034 contributionsThe 3 Giza Pyramids and Great Sphinx are some of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The 3 Pyramids served as the final resting places for kings of the 4th Dynasty. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu, the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid was the oldest, largest and tallest building in the world for 3,800 years. There are many other monuments in the complex like smaller queens’ pyramids, symbolic mastaba tombs, satellite pyramids, buried boats and a pair of temples. It is hard to do this on your own because there are so many regulations, customs, unique circumstances and logistics... Use a reputable tour company!!Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AMsaysThornhill, Canada5,034 contributionsNamed after King Menkaure, son of Khafre and grandson of Khufu. But he died before it was finished in the 4th dynasty, around 2510 BC. It is 213 ft tall (65m) and the smallest of the 3 main pyramids. Thee gash on the northern face was the start of an unsuccessful demolition by the second Sultan of Egypt, Al-Aziz Uthman. The furthest pyramid from the access point, so not as busy as the other pyramids. Still worth a look - you've come this far!Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Shyam K3 contributionsWonderful Experience with Look at Egypt Tours
We had an unforgettable journey with Look at Egypt Tours. From start to finish, their service was exceptional. Special thanks to our guides, [Mohammed for booking, Mahmoud as tour operator Amr as Driver. Local guides: Ahmet in Cairo, Sally in Alexandria and last but not least Eimen in Luxor and Aswan, who were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating, bringing Egypt’s history to life.
We also deeply appreciated our drivers, for their punctuality, professionalism, and care, making every ride smooth and comfortable.
The team was flexible and receptive to our requests, ensuring a stress-free and memorable experience. We highly recommend Look at Egypt Tours to anyone visiting this beautiful country.

We were nervous due to a possible culture shock we might have experience, but Ahmed made sure we were all set for everything and made us feel like we were right at home. Ahmed made sure we were not lost from the moment we arrived in Cairo's INTL Airport and till we finished our tour.
Ahmed has great knowledge of Egypt's rich history and showed us to many of Egypt's breath taking locations. Ahmed shows he is very organized and was always on time waiting for us in the meeting locations. Ahmed does small group tours and in my opinion is better due to having a greater personal experience compared to a 30 group tour. I highly recommend anybody to make the decision and book with Ahmed for your tour guide.Written 21 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We just wrapped up a 15 day full country tour with Mohammed Ibrahim, Osama, Adham and his incredible staff. Our travel from the states (Texas) was very easy and arrival at Cairo was simple and frustration free. Mr. Osama met us at the airport and guided us directly from the gate, through customs and baggage, it was actually quite amazing having traveled many times. We had extensive special tours of Giza and ALL the pyramids, I mean inside and out, all chambers, you can crawl and climb as much as you like. Dr. Ibrahim is one of the top Egyptologists in the country and provide you a wealth of information and FACTUAL details of the dynastic and pre-dynastic civilizations. Out tour also included a 7 day Nile river cruise to all of the sites along the east and west bank. You will visit many temples and sites not on most tours so be prepared for a full experience. The river cruise was outstanding with great accommodations, meals and parties. So nice to be able to enjoy sites and not change hotels every day. Bus transit to the sites was on a motor coach and not mini-bus as in Cairo so very comfortable. You would think that would be all, not a chance, we visited 4 museums to fill in many blanks in the ancient historical calendar. As you likely are aware some critical artifacts are now housed in exhibits local to Luxor, Aswan and Cairo. This is where Dr. Ibrahim extended his knowledge to us about the real happenings BEFORE the dynastic period. Our group also had the privilege of having Jonny Enoch as one of the special presenters giving his insight on connections to Egypt, current science and ancient technology. If you are looking to a true Egypt immersion, not just a hang at the pool tour, this is it. Dr. Ibrahim and his staff are 100% professional handling every detail from where to shop in the market, what are good deals and having security on hand all along the route. I will also say that the local people we met where al very friendly and love to see tourists back. This country has suffered immensely due to the COVID lockdowns so I hope after reading this you will again consider the trip. Masks are NOT required in most venues, museums only require then to get through security then you can remove. The food is great as well so be ready to try some local flavor (if you are lucky Ms. Ibrahim will make a special dish for lunch one day). We also had a day to enjoy the Cairo Markets, a must if you really want to haggle with local vendors (hit them 70% lower than asking, just saying). Enjoy and feel free to leave me a note. One thing I would add regarding travel to Cairo is to avoid Egypt Air if possible, they seem to have mechanical issues with planes as a few of our travel companions noted... Might get better as travel opens up.Written 1 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Ahmed and his team made sure my boyfriend and I had the next experience. From the activities and places he chose for us to the great knowledge he shares about the magnificence of Cairo and Giza. He treated us like family and we felt very comfortable. Ahmed is also a fantastic photographer and captured beautiful moments that would be forever in our memories! It was also such a bliss to see how everyone will greet him with kindness and extend that to us. Definitely this is your guy for your trip to Egypt and I can’t wait to be back and explore Other cities with this team!Written 13 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
