The pyramids were built to ensure that their smooth, angled sides symbolizing the sun’s rays and would help the Pharaoh’s soul ascend to heaven and join the gods. The continued existence of the pyramids after 4,000 years is a testament to their mastery of precision, ingenious craftmanship and architectural insight. Also you can ride camels there if you want. - Woodys5Sydney, Australia386 contributionsWe booked a driver through our hotel to take us to the Dahshur Pyramid, Memphis and Saqqara. We did not book a tour and maybe we should have. We read up about all the areas before visiting, however a tour guide may explained more ‘stories’.
The entrance fee into Dahshur is EGP 400 and if travelling without a tour group, there is an EGP 25.00 for the vehicle being used to travel through. EGP 425 is approximately AUD 13.00
We enjoyed the drive out of Giza and the whole day was much more peaceful. There were no touts selling their wares and we were able to walk around the red pyramid without hassle. The Red Pyramid is third-largest pyramid, one of three pyramids built by King Sneferu. The Bent pyramid is located one km south and also built by King Sneferu.
Going inside the pyramid did not appeal to me and I was happy to admire their beauty from outside. My wife and I were new to ancient Egyptian history and couldn't have found a better person to introduce us to a wonderful new world.
At the Pyramids Leila brought over 4500 years of history to life in an enthralling way. She also turned out to be a superb photographer who knew all the right angles to get fantastic shots. She later told us that her grandfather is a professional and it's certainly rubbed off on her!
We then went to the museum where it quickly became apparent that Leila has years of academic study behind her which coupled with her infectious enthusiasm and passion made for a most enlightening tour.
The structure of the day was well thought out and was adaptable to our personal preferences.

At the beginning I got scared and they navigated me through the journey without hesitation. That felt safe. The way going and coming was totally different. - Andy LHonolulu, HI170 contributionsMy son and I just returned from an amazing bespoke 13 day Look at Egypt Tours visit to Egypt and Jordan. We saw Cairo, Giza, Saqqara, Luxor and Karnak, Dendera, Abydos, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan, Temple of Isis, Nubian Village and then on to Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea in Jordan.
The trip was beautifully organized and prepared by my good friend for life Moody and tour director Ahmed. Everything was perfect and our guides Dalia, Mohamed and Saddam Hussein (yes, he has heard all the jokes!) were all incredibly professional and encyclopedic in their knowledge!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the smooth flow, always on time drivers and guides and most importantly the amazing hospitality - including dinner at Moody's home with his lovely wife and welcoming children!
It was a life changing trip that gave my son and I a chance to bond and even though it was my 3rd trip to Egypt, I look forward to returning again.

We are a small group, and occasionally want to change the tour schedule to accomodate a sudden interest. Jacob has ALWAYS been able to "make it happen." We were nervous due to a possible culture shock we might have experience, but Ahmed made sure we were all set for everything and made us feel like we were right at home. Ahmed made sure we were not lost from the moment we arrived in Cairo's INTL Airport and till we finished our tour.
Ahmed has great knowledge of Egypt's rich history and showed us to many of Egypt's breath taking locations. Ahmed shows he is very organized and was always on time waiting for us in the meeting locations. Ahmed does small group tours and in my opinion is better due to having a greater personal experience compared to a 30 group tour. I planned to take my son to Egypt for his 17th birthday . prior to confirming the booking or sending any payment, Ibrahim took his time to answer any questions or ideas we had regarding hotels,weather,food or safety.
Ibrahim sent us the itinerary written clearly and detailed for our 3 days in Cairo and 2 days in luxor so we knew exactly what the plan was.
At the start of each day he told us the plan for the day (where we would go , what time we have lunch) and was happy to accommodate if we wanted to do things in a different order for example have lunch earlier than planned.
During the long car trips he talked about the history of the sites we were going to
and also was happy to talk about and answer any question about aspects of Egypt (economy, politics ,culture) which I found very interesting.
He always makes sure you get nice photos at the sites before you leave if you want .
We felt 100% safe and we could trust Ibrahim at all time .
He also arranged for a surprise for my son's birthday when we went on a nile cruise which was very pleasant.
He didn't travel to Luxor with us but he arranged with hot air balloon ride company, driver and another guide to pick us up at the airport and this all went very smoothly as we were greeted by the guide and driver and continued our trip in luxor.
Ibrahim was very professional at all times while also being extremely personable and friendly (no nonsense)
Highly recommend Ibrahim, was not left wanting in any department. I feel very fortunate to have had Ibrahim for our time in Cairo. She changed the tour a bit on my request and showed me another beautiful mosque that wasn't part of the program.
