Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went to Egypt last month in April (2024) to celebrate my 30th birthday. And after visiting the pyramids of Giza we make a little stop and we visited Golden Bird Bazaar it is the most sweetest jewelry store ever! We were greeted so nicely and felt the warmth of all the people working here! They offered us something to drink and let us browse around at our own pace! It felt so nice and relaxing because when I tell you the people were so kind! Islam who is the owner of the store helped me and my mom look around we purchased so many things because the quality of the jewelry was so good and they have so many beautiful items. We loved it so much we went back a second time. If you ever visit Egypt and want to buy gold like I did I really recommend that you stop and visit them you wont regret it! Thank you so much for the best experience ever me and my family really loved it and you will be seeing us soon I would hope much love from Los Angeles!

I've been waiting to visit the Art Centre since the pandemic began and wasn't disappointed. The staff are all informative and kind--and the artists are uninformatively passionate. I was hugely impressed by their dedication to quality and traditional weaving. For instance, all the dyes used in the tapestries and weavings are *grown* and harvested from plants, such as indigo, at the Centre.

Egypt, unfortunately, is awash with cheap imported crafts. Don't miss your chance to support creative, local artists from Cairo !

If you need to buy some stuff other than souvenirs while you are in Giza, this is a good place. You get off the street and find some quality. Good for those who are staying in hotels in Giza.

Not a fancy shopping center, but a practical one. If you are staying in a Giza hotel, you may needs some odds and ends for travel, then you might want to go here as it is convenient and gets you off the street.

We had an explanation and presentation that was interesting. Some very nice items to buy. I have to say it was some light pressure to buy.

It was authentic papyrus and a nice art selection in the shop. Negotiate the best deal possible in all of Egypt, and don't feel guilty here for doing the same. Nice group of people, and it was mostly a screen print style art that was signed. Keep in mind, it still comes from Egypt!
Nice stuff to buy. Try and get papyrus art at the end of the tour. Keeping up with it for 7 days is a nightmare!

Great hospitality! They have a huge collection of papyrus both for Egyptian history and Arabic/Islamic Choreography. They also have a few collections written in phosphorus where you'll get different designs/shapes in the dark . Glad to have the little demonstration on how papyrus is being prepared by Cutting the stalks.
The product price is very very costly, I had a failed negotiation of 100 EGP for their ask of 600 EGP, but got something similar with 75 EGP from a small shop near the Tahrir square.

We weren't told ahead of time that this was in our itinerary, but our guide had us stop here. He did just tell us we could learn and the process. He was correct, but that demo takes less than 5 mins. The person who does your demo then seems to guide you around for you to shop. It wasn't super hassling, but still awkward as we were NOT going to buy anything. I do appreciate the process and some of the hand painted scrolls are beautiful, but it felt like an unnecessary waste of 15 mins.

My family and I went on a tour today with The Travel Connection Tours to the Pyramids, Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Making. Our driver was very friendly, professional and prompt. Our guide kept us informed all the way through the tour of all the important facts and made us feel very comfortable. He spoke English well and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Mohammed Ali Mosque as well. The tour was well planned and organised and they could not do enough for us. I would highly recommend The Travel Connection Tours to all visiting Cairo and deem
them to be the best in Egypt.
