Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- tcalvert123Portland, OR11 contributionsMy husband, Tom, and I had the most amazing adventure through Egypt for Americans, October 2023. We have the highest of expectations when we travel, and we were looking for the ultimate, customized trip. Our every expectation was exceeded. From Cairo to Alexandria, Luxor to Aswan, we experienced the best Egypt has to offer. The Nile cruise was our first cruise, and I believe it will be hard to match the experience. Highlights included Giza and ascending within the Great Pyramid, riding a camel, enjoying the Mediterranean, and having a meal at the home of our guide Egyptologist Gaber Omar. When circumstances changed, leading us to depart one day early, every effort was made, ensuring that we experienced everything on our original itinerary. I highly recommend Egypt for Americans.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Departure3307101 contributionWe just had an incredible trip to Egypt with Egitalloyd. We had the most caring, brilliant travel guides that took such good care of us and were so knowledgable. We learned so much from them. Every step of the way we had a plan, but they were also flexible with us if we wanted to stop to shop, etc. They were cautious and we felt very safe but we had so much fun. Everything from airport and boat transfers, to all of the tours went very smoothly. We cried when we left because we loved our travel guides so much! Highly recommend traveling to Egypt with these guys. You will not regret it!Written 5 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Henry MPerth, Australia759 contributionsWe travelled to Egypt with TripaDeal (based in Queensland, Australia) in November 2023 and from the time we touched down in Cairo were well looked after by Egypt Promotions Travel. Our Egyptologist & Guide Dr Mahmoud Khatt was passionate about Egypt. He told us about all the historical sites we were visiting on our trip to Cairo (Giza, Memphis and Saqqara & the Old Cairo), Aswan (Nubian Village), Edfu, Luxor, Karnac, Valley of the Kings....etc - incredible memories, all run smoothly by our guide . Our 3 night cruise on the Nile was a highlight. The Magic hotel on the Red Sea was planned for Hurghada but prior to departing Australia was changed to Amwaj Beach Club in Safaga - an isolated hotel 80 km from the city of Hurghada.
The airconditioning on the last night in Cairo at the Baron Hotel was terrible, the air full of cigarette smoke - I found it hard to breath at times. Breakfast meal times at the hotel were extremely busy but the food was plentiful & varied to suit local and tourist paletttes.
Mahmoud Hashi from Egypt Promotions Travel was helpful and friendly - we only met him briefly at the start and end of our holiday. Journeys by coach was comfortable and overall the 12 day Egypt was fabulousWritten 25 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. His expertise as Egyptologist was an outstanding experience to us. He was able to read and explain hyroglyphe writings on walls of temples and graves. His historical overviews about centuries of dynastic history made us feel safe between ages of storytelling. His friendly and patient way of guiding us through and beside waiting queues and police check points gave enough time and space for open minded observation, looking at the beauties of ancient Egypt by sketching and drawing. We also had deep conversations about now a days Egyptian reality and cultural clashes between touristic development and people’s needs for their every days life. We learned and understood a lot about his country and its modern history. His explanation of Karnak was outstanding. We could have stayed there a whole day. He showed to us the kings valley, which ended up with a balloon ride across the dessert at sunrise. The river cruise to Edfu and Kom Ombo let us enjoy the beauty of the Nile landscape from the ships deck with enough time for talking and bronzing. His explanations on the 2x three hours desert trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back even made the boring brown-grey desert landscape interesting by his explanations. We certainly do recommend to book this guide! Thank you MEMPHIS TOURS for sending us Ahmed.Written 27 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
