At present howerver, the contents are split between the old museum in Tahrir Sq and the new one at Giza, wich is only open in a limited area just to see the new building. As a result many of the artifacts are unavailable for viewing.
All major tourit sites are VERY busy and the Pyramid area is unrecognisable from 30 years ago. He was on time and delivered us back at our hotel exactly as requested. It was fun going with him and sharing ideas on cultures and customs on the way. We have the highest of expectations when we travel, and we were looking for the ultimate, customized trip. Our every expectation was exceeded. From Cairo to Alexandria, Luxor to Aswan, we experienced the best Egypt has to offer. The Nile cruise was our first cruise, and I believe it will be hard to match the experience. Highlights included Giza and ascending within the Great Pyramid, riding a camel, enjoying the Mediterranean, and having a meal at the home of our guide Egyptologist Gaber Omar. When circumstances changed, leading us to depart one day early, every effort was made, ensuring that we experienced everything on our original itinerary. The tour itself was very pleasant, and the driver, Eslam, was very kind and cordial.
