For anybody interested in the history of this ancient Christian denomination this an interesting destination taking the visitors to a different but fascinating Cairo where ancient Egyptian is spoken but written down with Greek alphabet. Beautiful sacral art collection.

Lovely, new, well lighted museum of Islamic Art which includes historical references. Excellent, uncrowded museum. We would rate this second to the newly opened Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Well worth an hour to 90 minutes!

A must visit when in Cairo. I recommend having a tour guide to help you navigate through the museum. Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be walking through the different areas of the museum. It was fascinating to learn about the civilization process. Many artifacts are displayed and my favorite part was the mummified display section of the pharaohs. Very informative tour and you leave with a great history lesson about Egypt civilization..
    I highly recommend this tour.

There is a large gallery for contemporary art shows downstairs from the main attraction here, a comprehensive collection of Islamic pottery. Check if you can whether the museum has reopened!

This recently renovated museum houses a truly impressive collection of beautiful artworks. For example several works of Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Auguste Rodin.
You just don’t believe to find such a collection here. It seemed that Mr Mahmoud Khalil and his French wife had an excellent taste and brought most of the art from Paris.

The museum is not difficult to find, the address on it’s website says Kafor street. I recomment that you ask the taxi driver to take you to Giza Street, as that’s wheee you ‘ll find the entrance.

Security is very strickt, you have to put your purse in a locker, and the keep your passport until you leave.
