This company saved our vacation as my package booked with Nice Tours through Expedia cancelled us 5 days before our departure. Imagine my stress. I frantically called Expedia and they helped me booked a 7 day package with Book To Egypt and even got me connected with Ali the manager on the spot. From that moment, we were in good hands. They promised to take care of us as family and delivered. Ali was available 24/7, put my worries at rest and not only delivered the package but was able to add additional requests at reasonable prices. For example, we added Abu Simbel, Karnak and a day trip to Alexandria. Looking back, our trip wouldn’t be complete with Abu Simbel. We had 4 local guides for Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Alexandria and they are all efficient, helpful , and knowledgeable m. I travel with my elderly mom, a 26 yo son with autism who needs constant redirection and help from me and his 23 yo brother, but somehow we smashed it and had a blast. I think because we did our study ahead of time and embraced the culture, we find Egypt fascinating and improvised when things went a bit not as preferred. I was able to communicate any concerns with Ali or his tour operator Ehab and got any issues addressed. Meanwhile, we made a lot of friends on the cruise, loved the food on the ship and basically at all the hotels we stayed at. Giza pyramids are amazing and the GEM and old Egyptian museums will blow your minds. My mom and I had a fantastic time riding the horse carriages to Edfu temple but her favorite was the Luxor temple which glowed with splendor when we arrived late at night. Nester was very considerate as there was a lot of walking at Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, King Tut’s tomb and Karnak and helped order our lunch ahead at a nice restaurant with a stunning view of Luxor harbor. Emad was our favorite as we spent the most time with him in Aswan and in the ship including sharing the Turkish coffee experience together at Kom Ombo as we listened to his explanations of Sobek, crocodile god and Egyptian tales and history. Emad took many stunning pictures for us and I think he really enjoyed our curiosity and enthusiasm. Hanan is my mom’s favorite guide and she has a lot of experience. She patiently taught us many things at GEM, old Egyptian Museum, Hang Church and rescued us multiple times with timely pick up from the van as we started to feel exhausted. She also arranged at our request for a fantastic cruise dinner with belly dancing in Cairo that went perfect as our private driver waited for us at the door. There was no mishap of waiting as it was very crowded. Cairo can be intimidating and chaotic but having a team of professionals take care of your need and ensure your good time made our dream of Egypt a reality. Our favorite hotel is Le Passage because it was very nice and close to the airport on our last night. Since I had 2 extra nights before leaving, Ali even arranged for us to stay at the same hotel to ease logistics for a competitive price. At this hotel, I was able to book a private tour ( they even gave me a discount) for me and my autistic son to visit Saqqara as my mom rested in the hotel and my other son enjoyed the gym and having a fantastic lunch with grandma. I absolutely loved Saqqara and was so glad I didn’t leave without seeing it. My private driver Saayit spoke perfect English and gave me a 10/10 personal tour of the place as we arrived late in the afternoon with a more deserted place after all the tourists have left for the day. He made me feel safe as he dealt with the local attendants and even managed to put us on a camel for a quick ride/picture session. Unbelievable! Lastly, hats off to the handsome Ehab who greeted us as we arrived at the airport and helped us through custom check points, answered all our questions and was flexible to pick us up 1 hr early when the airline in Luxor offered to put us on an earlier flight We saved 1 hr and my 79 yo mom was grateful not having to wait around at the airport. Our day trip to Alexandria had a problem because the police closed the road due to foggy condition. We were delivered back to the hotel at 10pm instead of 6pm. Ali attended promptly to our situation, gave us an option to turn around but when we decided to continue, the super driver worked hard to ensure our safety and our tour guide in Alexandria Mahmoud somehow managed to engaged our attention for a nice tour of the Catacomb, Alexandria Library, and Citadel. We didn’t want dinner of sea bass for fear of long return drive, but as I jokingly said I wanted the grill corn people were selling across the street by the water, Mahmoud went get it for me. They really treated us like family and that’s what made them special. Thanks Book to Egypt and I definitely will recommend this company.
