We were given an explanation on how everything is made and what goes into it. We were able to try each and every scent how everyone many times we wanted and understand how people use it. Highly recommend and Nasser was an amazing person to help us have an experience rather than just visiting another store! A NECESSARY STOP!!! The queen cleopatra is a must.

Top notch Egyptian hospitality, great selection of jewellery, and the option to personalise! If you are in Cairo, stop by Mamluk Jewellery and Bazaar!

If you are looking for affordable, Egyptian made jewelry, scarves, clothing, and an assortment of other handicrafts this is a wonderful store. I found Nomad through a bit of searching online for places to shop in Cairo for handicrafts. Very near the Marriott; a bit hard to find but so worth it. Lovely cotton scarfs; Bedouin jewelry; some clothes; cotton bags; and Nubian crafts. Very helpful and kind service. I cannot recommend enough as a great place to find lovely affordable Egyptian made gifts.

We took an Uber from the Sofitel and it only took 10 min and cheap. It was a pretty spot to find. The shop is upstairs and you ring a bell to get in. The worker was helpful and there was a wide array of local artisan works from pottery to Macrame. If you are looking for those this is a spot to check out.

After two days of having one pair of clothes for my wife, we Uber’d to the Mall. This place had everything from a Careefoure (like Walmart) to HM to many specialty stores you find in America. She was able to pick up a couple outfits, shoes bathing suit so we can continue our stay while we wait for a miracle.

Oh yah, did I mention Starbucks?

A nice cafe-bookstore-exhibition frequented by young students and cultured visitors. If you are in the area drop in for a relaxed break.

Terrible experience. They overpriced everything because we weren’t Egyptian (a common theme in Cairo in places that don’t post prices!) & the staff was extremely rude & unapologetic for the rip off attempt. We left without buying a thing - never again.

My husband and I shopped in the Sami Amin store in Maadi and bought a number of lovely items. We purchased a unique briefcase, and several very creative belts. The prices are good compared to those in the US, but high for Egypt. That said, the items in the Sami Amin stores are one of a kind, handmade artworks that can be purchased no where else. The leather quality is good and better than most we saw throughout the country. But if you are looking for butter soft leather, you still won't find it here. Most Egyptian leather is rather hard, but probably quite durable.

Shop at Sami Amin for unusual, hand made gifts you won't find anywhere else.

I have known Mahmoud Ab Del Ghaffar since 1983. He is an honorable gentleman who sells quality goods at reasonable fixed prices. No high pressure, stay as long as you like and browse around to your heart's content. With Al Hussein Mosque to your back and walking down the main street into the Khan, Mahmoud's Al Wikalah home goods textile shop is on the right, further down on the left if the Al Wikalah Belly Dance "super store". 4 stories of belly dance heaven, with plenty of comfortable seating for dutiful non dancing traveling companions to relax in a quiet relaxed setting while you shop. Mahmoud and his sons are courteous and you can shop peacefully, at your own pace. They will help you if asked but will never intrude on your shopping. If you need a custom costume they can also help with that and arrange for fittings with their lady tailors. They can also tell you where to see folkloric dance and who is dancing where and when. Even non dancers will find lovely beaded fashion scarves and accessories that they just have to have. Al Wikalah is always my first stop when I arrive in Cairo.

Very nice staff who will show you whatever you want to look it, great selection in a small shop. A great variety of styles from different part of Egypt. Prices seem reasonable, and the neighborhood has a lot of artisanal shops as well. Staff also told us that there's a branch of this shop in the American Embassy. Staff speaks fluent English.

This place has a good selection of gifts over the four floors. Top floor has some great carpets.
The gentleman will show you around and explain the crafts. Speaks good English.
You can get a good cross range of divine era and Egyptian crafts. Didn’t feel too cheap though.
