Having spend most of the previous day in the market, resisting making any purchases, I followed along a friend to this shop without much interest. Oops - I feel like a bought the shop! I came out with 4 beautiful and vibrant cushion covers, all hand stitched with fun and rich designs; a colourful new carpet runner for my hall; 2 gorgeous glass Christmas baubles; a new tote handbag; and a fridge magnet. The prices are all fixed so there is no need to haggle and for handmade genuine Egyptian craft it is more than worth it. As a bonus, they have really mastered that elusive art of being attentive and friendly without harassing and 'selling' to you. We were apprehensive about spending so much money and having our purchases shipped home to Australia but they arrived exactly in the same condition that we saw them in Egypt. The gentleman will show you around and explain the crafts. Speaks good English.
You can get a good cross range of divine era and Egyptian crafts. We found a large variety of posters, and some very original souvenirs such as coasters shaped as old coins and miniature coffee shop chairs.

This place had everything from a Careefoure (like Walmart) to HM to many specialty stores you find in America. She was able to pick up a couple outfits, shoes bathing suit so we can continue our stay while we wait for a miracle.

- ApiersaSamois-sur-Seine, France131 contributionsThis was the only jewellery shop in the mall of the Grand Egyptian Museum that looked as though it might have items in it that I could potentially afford! And sure enough, I came away with three pairs of silver earrings (for my daughters and myself) designed by the young woman who served me. The jewellery is modern, clean lines with a slight Egyptian twist, very wearable by all age ranges of women and is far from being tourist tat. It's not cheap (I paid around €163 in total for the three pairs) but seems to me a very reasonable price for silver jewellery and for the work that went into these intricate pieces of art. an old man who flirts with young girls who are literally more than half his age and thinks it's funny or appreciated.

Tika the owner was so friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable , gave us some ice cold bottle water and even let us use the shop WIFI to order our Taxi.
No need to shop anywhere else you will find plenty of gifts to suit all tastes and price ranges.
