- scotdoc2015Birmingham, UK131 contributionsEnter near the AL Azhar mosque entrance. Only worth going along to the middle cross junction area. Beware of pushy sellers. Don't be fooled by converted prices.
Difficult to arrange an Uber taxi from here.
Plenty of choice. Buy all souvenirs here.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Maurizio3030Cairo, Egypt1,544 contributionsWe live this market. It is not touristy. It is hard to get to it is aka Al Khayamiyya if you are using google maps or Google Bab Zuwayla. There are so many textile markets etc. We found a great slipper shop. Do Egypt . Enjoy the journeyWritten 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Catherine3 contributionsThis was one of the highlights during my visit to Cairo. When I read about it, I knew I had to go. It all seemed so chaotic. The camels are mainly sold for their meat so keep this in mind if you are a vegetarian. Had a driver with a guide to get there. The drive through the countryside to get there was also worth it. Ladies..take a scarf to wear, dust being kicked up everywhere.Written 7 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- leilalouise2018Cairo, Egypt6 contributionsHuge market with everything you may need! Scarves, bags, electricals, kitchenware... Note that goods are not necessarily of good quality, ths is not a market for handmade crafts or similar but for cheap, imported things. No need to bargain, prices are set and very affordable to begin with. I bought scarves for 20 LE (1€) and various hair accessories for 5 LE (0,25€) each. Do go, mix with locals and enjoy the atmosphere!Written 5 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- James CHarleysville, PA448 contributionsWent here with our guide and had some fun bargaining for spices and trinkets. Always a fun stop at a SoukWritten 8 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maurizio3030Cairo, Egypt1,544 contributionsGet your uber to drop you off at Zuwayla Gate by the Mosque of Al Salih Talai best I can do. This is an incredible spot to find purses, shoes, rugs, and of course tents. Bring your walking shoes because it is dusty and at the end of the street is where they sell fish, chicken, produce etc and it can get messy. We got some incredible bread sticks for 20LE full bag. It is a must stop if you have time in Cairo.Written 1 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
