Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- sopho esaiashvili1 contributionA true journey into the fusion of European and Georgian culture, Ancient and unique exhibits and works of art you must visit and enjoy it.Written 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Expat AdrianAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates938 contributionsGeorgia 🇬🇪 and her capitalTbilisi are rich with history, my family were keen to have a deeper understanding of the nation’s past.
We enjoyed all displays at the museum, three floors in total. It’s not a large museum, about two hours worth. My son and I enjoyed the insight into Georgia’s history, including that under soviet rule. This top floor gallery is not for ‘war enthusiasts’ as one visited has stated, the post-World War One period for Georgia was cruel and brutal, recent history I’m thankful to now know a little more about.
What was insulting was that as tourists, we were required to pay double the entry price, 30 GEL each. Whoever has agreed to this has no real appreciation of how insulting this is. My family and I choose to visit your beautiful country, spent thousands of Euros to get here, to then be exploited because we weren’t born here. This needs to be addressed in my opinion.Written 10 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I found the part about winemaking especially interesting.
All the houses have been brought from every part of the country and reconstructed on site. Unfortunately, at the time of this review, a large section was off-limits due to renovation work. This includes the Svan Tower, however you are able to see it from a distance.
Be aware that it is difficult to get to on foot, and that you strongly consider a taxi/own car for the last bit of the way.Written 10 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - donald w1 contributionThe museum is a bit in the middle of nowhere however the machines on display were really impressive.
Most impressive though was the owner, really knowledgeable and the kindest man you can meet.
We had just arrived in tblisi and this was our first stop, no cash only card which they could not accept that day due to technicalities, however after a couple of minutes discussion we were treated to a free tour!
It's only 10GEL per person and well worth it, recommended to anyone. The taxi ride from old tblisi city to there cost more 12GEL!
The old school cars and bikes are a beautiful collection with throwbacks to to 20's (1920's) when style and contours was everything and the old war vehicles were every bit as amusing as you can expect.
Everything on display is immaculately restored.
Well impressed and thankful for kindhearted human nature. Money is not everything.Written 15 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The main floor was largely dedicated to Pirosmani with some really beautiful pieces on display.
With his characteristic style of naive primitivism. Pirosmani's paintings feature bold colours depicting a childlike perspective. The simplicity of his paintings convey strong emotions and a connection to nature and everyday life. His works being a reason in and of itself to visit the gallery. If the opportunity presents when in Tbilisi, well worth a look.Written 9 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's interesting to see things as they were plus a treasure trove of historical Soviet propaganda. The custodian is a very loud old communist with a bombastic personality with not much respect for personal space and he might or might not be your cup of tea.Written 21 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jowen_7Derbyshire26 contributionsIf you like photography then it well worth looking at this gallery, which has some historical photojournalism pieces by well know local artists, some young contemporary pieces and some conceptual work; all of which is for sale. The Gallery Managers are both knowledgable and passionate about the work in the collection. Their English is superb and add something to a visit here. - Nikolaos DAthens, Greece6 contributionsExcellent way to understand the wine heritage of Georgia, along to an understanding of how the city has evolved due to the coexistence with the Kura river.
Ask for a free guide -it is included at the 15 Lari entrance ticket.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tickets cost 15 lari each.
This museum mostly exhibits Georgian artist Zurab Tsereteli's works.
The 2nd and 3rd level were regarding his works. I actually enjoyed seeing his works as it was vibrant and showcased abit of Georgian culture (which is nice for someone who has little exposure of that)
The 1st level had an exhibition of a Bahraini artist Rashid Al Khalifa, which is cool and worth checking out.
Museum staff at the counter speaks English well and explained the different exhibitions at each level.
Photography and Videography are allowed.Written 1 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
