Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jill SCanberra, Australia4 contributionsWe did the Outer Islands tour to Pele and Nguna Islands last weekend and loved it! Our guide, Roy, was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful and the local villagers provided great meals and a very comfortable bungalow for our 2 night stay. We were able to enjoy a village tour on Nguna and time at the beach with the village children on Pele in the afternoons. A special treat was the chance to swim with a dugong just off the beach near the village and then watch it and another dugong racing the full length of the beach! We would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience and learn about island life and culture.Written 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shayne J4 contributionsWhere to begin - my wife and I will be returning to Vanuatu again as soon as we can almost single-handedly because of Phillip and the amazing crew at Yumi tours.
Yes, Vanuatu is a stunning gem in the pacific, but where it truly shines is the people - Phillip being a beacon of excellence among them.
We worked with Phillip to organize an unforgettable custom itinerary and Airport Transfers and Phillip went the extra mile to show us the true spirit of hospitality.
At every opportunity, Phillip worked around our schedule, worked with the local vendors to save us some money and extremely responsive.
We cannot thank you enough for making our Honeymoon UNFORGETTABLE.
Do not hesitate with booking with Yumi Tours. If I could rate 6 stars, I would.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Originally we were booked on a day trip but it got upgraded to an overnight due to low numbers for the day trip, which honestly was better as we got to see the lava glow in the night! There is only one thing I can complain about and that was that our pickup from the hotel was 90min late, there seemed to be a miscommunication with a driver that we didn't know about who was supposed to pick us up on their behalf but I do feel this was a one off situation as the rest of the tour was amazing so I am still recommending you do this tour! Being on the volcano was simply breath-taking, the roar of it was just fabulous, seeing the lava being blasted into the air was the best fireworks show ever! I recommend this tour for adults and older children - your kids MUST be at an age that they can listen and take direction (ours were 10+), you are on the volcano in the dark and the safety rail will not keep small children from slipping under it. Take a P2 mask with you as the sulphur cloud will hit you several times depending on the wind direction, and also take long pants and jumper as the wind is cold up top. Photo below taken before it got dark to show you the rail.Written 4 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Donna WSunshine Coast, Australia262 contributions6 of us had a booking and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Something different than what we normally do. Two of us are in our 60's and it was doable so don't let age deter you from going. We had a great 30minutes and would recommend.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kaz M1 contributionWe are in our sixties and had not dived for approximately 6 years. We did a skills refresher with Kolen at the resort we were staying at. We let Kolen know we had some physical limitations that he listened carefully to, discussed our needs and assured us that he would look after us. His teaching was enthusiastic and positive with very clear instructions. We were the only ones on our double dive on a small boat with a skipper.
Kolen was a great dive master appropriately checking that we were ok and assisting us when necessary. He pointed out all sorts of marine creatures making for a great experience.
His enthusiasm for the sea and Island is infectious. We would highly recommend Kolen and the Big Blue diving team. All staff were helpful and considerate. Thank you for reinvigorating our love of diving. Jenn and KazWritten 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephen M7 contributionsA great experience all round. We were cruising with Princess cruise line and organised directly with Leanne a double dive with Nautilus. We are a family four and just wanted to do our own thing. Nautilus were happy to accommodate us. Took a water taxi from the cruise terminal and easy transfer and they gave us a lift back.Written 8 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dr LesTamworth, Australia335 contributionsWonderful flight with Dave to Nguna Island. The weather was a tad overcast and rainy on the island but still worth the flight. Dave was a great tour guide, pointing out the local sites. The final flight through the canyon on the way back to Port Vila was sensational.
Would recommend this service to anyone.

- Vickistephenson5 contributionsPost cyclone holiday and Vanuatu is still recovering after being hit with cyclones two weeks ago.
We were the first visitors taken out on the tour since the cyclones and we had the best time. We had to take out quads not buggy’s as the terrain was affected by the cyclones and the buggy’s would not have made it. More water than usual.
Frida took us on our trip stopping at lookouts for photos and a lovely refreshment break before heading back.
We spent nearly three hours out and about and saw parts of Vanuatu that many do not see.
A definite highlight of our trip here.Written 28 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The crew were so lovely and we had fresh fruit, coconuts and Kava. The sunset was incredible followed by the dramatic stormy skies.
