Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our hosts were easy to find with their banners and had shade and water for us. We had a full day visiting our hosts home village and the incredible skull cave. Very informative and dispels some of the myths surrounding PNG culture.
I cannot speak highly enough of warm welcome and interest from the locals.
Take the time to invest in the local people and culture. You will not be disappointed

We completed the Kokoda trail with trek leader Jake Leske and 2IC Brody Murray from 03/10/23 - 12/10/23. It was a fantastic adventure. Learned heaps about the battle history of Kokoda and would highly recommend the trek with Adventure Kokoda to anybody that is thinking about doing it. The porters are absolutely amazing and are with you every step of the journey. Good was good and the views are awesome. Do yourself a favour and book this trip of a lifetime!

A meaningful trek with the fabulous David Sherry as Trek Leader. It's a physical and mental challenge and along the way David shares the war history along the trail. It's poignant that this campaign was instrumental in stopping the Japanese advance to the Australian mainland and yet the scale of the heroism is known by few in Australia. I would recommend the Adventure Kokoda tour to all Australians. I've taken my sons and I know it has left an indelible memory of what it means to be Australian.

Such a rewarding experience. We were always in good hands and Adventure Kokoda have been doing this long enough now to have the process sorted. We knew months in advance what we needed to do to prepare and what equipment we needed to have. Our guide and PNG porters were exceptional. No matter how exhausting the walk we took time to learn about the villagers life and culture. Most importantly was the war history we were taught from our guide Peter and for us to honour our soldiers as we walked kept us going.
Beautiful creek crossings and scenery along the way. Dawn service at memorial at Isuava was moving.

All in all a very good tour. The minibus had seen better days but the aircon worked. The guide Michael wA friendly and helpful but perhaps could have given a bit more history talk. The village visit was very genuine and a unique tasty lunch if sago bread, papaya, pineapple and coconut water was provided. Given the tour was also $100 less than the offered similar shore excursion I would recommend this.
