My dad and I arrived to Georgetown a few days ago and wanted to see more of the city, so we decided to book a Demerara River tour with Blackwater Adventures. They were super responsive to all of my inquiries. Our tour guide, Enrique was incredible. He demonstrated a lot of knowledge about Georgetown and we had an incredible time with him while enjoying some amazing sights. I would definitely recommend this tour!

This has it all...history, local culture, humor, and out of this world food! They were even able to fit us in last minute. I can't recommend this enough!

The instructors were knowledgeable of the surroundings and river basin. Very communicative and instructive on where to go, overall the experience was great.

Tour guide, Omari, was very informative. He provided me with many historical facts on Guyana. He was able to point out and explain many architectural buildings and their historical purpose. He ensured full safety during the tour. I highly recommend this tour but encourage the government to place more bike lanes in the city to encourage tourism.

What a fascinating story! Jessica and Eon had researched everything thoroughly and were completely engaging. The tour ended with a delicious meal at their house. Our only regret is that we didn’t take this tour earlier as we would then have booked the cookery experience that they also offer.

Maybe it was because it was a rainy day but the experience left us a little underwhelmed. Chris and Helen were pleasant and informative guides but after a long drive to and around Linden there wasn’t that much to see and do. We saw the remnants of the bauxite processing industry but the museum was closed. It was also too wet to visit the local market.

4 days in the jungle, hiking in the sun, bug bites, sleeping in the rain, carrying a 20lb pack were all tiring, but i felt so refreshed in the days after. It was truly healing and the feeling after and the views were worth all the effort. Dillon was an awesome guide and always had multiple options and contingency plans in case of any issues. The absolute trip of a lifetime and i’m so happy to have made the commitment to do it.

We saw so much wildlife— birds, spider monkeys, caiman, anaconda, poisonous dart frogs, and so much more!! Anders, Lionel, and the other Makushi are top class bushmasters and guides. This is my second adventure trip to Guyana and I know I will be back again. Truly a hidden gem.
