- tauntonitessomerset10 contributionsDirk at Ceylon Escapes was the only travel agent in Sri Lanka who read my request of what I wanted to do & worked an itinerary to suit. I had approached 14 other travel agents & only 2 responded. The other did not read my requirements & made a standard offering. When asked to quote in £sterling, Dirk was spot on whereas the other wanted to charge 1.3 times more !!!
The entire trip went without a hitch although there were negative news media about the situation in Sri Lanka. I did not face any fuel shortage, power cuts were usually 1 - 2 hours maximum, WiFi in most places was good.
Amila my driver was very knowledgeable, knew of my likes & dislikes as far as food was concerned & chose the restaurants accordingly. He also arranged the local safari jeeps/ guides which meant I saw the leopards at Wilpattu, a huge variety of birds in Bundala etc. Yala was a little disappointing but did see elephants, one whose trunk was less than one metre from the jeep. Wow, my dream fulfilled with all the things Ceylon Escapes had arranged including seeing dolphins & whales.
I would 100% recommend Ceylon Escapes as a very reputable travel agent. Dirk is very knowledgeable & he chooses the drivers & vehicles with great care. And all appreciation to Damit. We found Damit page on Instagram and contacted him via what’s app. It was the last minute decision as there was so much warning from our friends not to travel to srilanka due to the current political situation and mess around that. We finally listened to our heart and booked our ticket just two days before travel date. Contacted Damit and he customized the trip. Then what we were like Get Set Go….
The trip was fabulous and so well planned that all our to do list in srilanka has been fulfilled.
Out of everything we would also like to thank Hasita who drove us all across srilanka for 12 days.
The best of all experience was in Yala National park and unlimited thanks to yasanka our chauffeur in the park who made us see the leopard, bear, elephant, crocodile and every corner of the national park.
I would definitely recommend them.

I contacted Roshan via WhatsApp to enquire about the services. His response was swift and communication was clear. It helped us plan our trip on a really short notice (in less than a week!) and I truly appreciate his prompt response!
Fast forward to the trip, our driver Faisal was wonderful. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time in Sri Lanka. He brought us to the places we wanted to visit and recommended many more attractions along the way, all of which were great. We went to many mountainous areas and the roads were definitely not easy to maneuver. Even then, we felt safe 100% of the time as Faisal's driving techniques was superb. We got to take the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella with Faisal's help and he ensured we boarded the train before driving off to meet us at Ella station!
Both Faisal and Roshan also has excellent photography skills and took many beautiful pictures for us!
We did not experience major inconveniences or safety issues despite the ongoing political issues in the country. Would highly recommend everyone to visit Sri Lanka and engage Roshan/Faisal! Despite the incredibly hectic roads of Sri Lanka we felt incredibly safe and Mr. Sampath is a great driver. As well as getting from A to B, he acted as our fixer and helped sort out countless activities - such as safari and cooking classes - as well as recommendations of places to visit. Despite the economic and political issues in the country we never felt this affected us and didn't anything away from our amazing visit in this beautiful country.
One thing I would mention is that we thought we could pay on card although ending up sending a bank transfer which proved slightly more complicated. If we were doing this again we would bring USD which will also help with the Sri Lankan community with rising inflation on the Rupee.

I'm currently in the midst of my 10 days tour which is flexible to any changes. However, in the first 3 days I was able to cover Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Mihintale and Sigiriya ancient ruins, and in between I had the opportunities to visit Aluviharaya rock caves temple and much more. Our driver was the best. Nice, supporting, ready to solve any problem we got. I have some movement problems (disability) and the driver was always ready to suggest solutions.
The car was very comfortable too. - Alexandra4 contributionsI could not recommend Aerizo Tours more! Starting from the initial conversations and the itinerary alignment, it all felt very promising. The communication with Dan has been excellent. He is very flexible, helpful, always reachable and most importantly transparent. Our driver, upon our request, was Chanaka! But this guy is much more beyond a driver; he is an experienced guide and a protector in every moment of the trip. Chan has a very high sense of responsibility and professionalism. He is a genuinely kind soul and an adventure seeker who loves his country deeply and who adapts the programme according to your tourist profile. He is very knowledgeable and eager to share his passion. He attended all our activities (safaris, trekkings etc.) and was always there to ensure our security and satisfaction. He was always on time, having the car in excellent condition, driving very cautiously, being fun, easy going and discreet and answering every single question. Chan, we are so thankful we have experienced amazing moments with you and thanks to you!! It was made all the better by having Mahesh as a driver who was an excellent guide and went above and beyond for us throughout the trip to ensure we had the best time and saw all that the country to offer.
We would have missed out on so many amazing experiences if we had not had Mahesh as a driver. He new all the best secret little spots and view points which helped break up the travel and advised how to optimise our trip and ensure we were not in the car for too long at any point. I would highly recommend him and he will ensure you have an amazing time.

They processed a full refund for us with no hassle. Great to deal with a company who care so deeply about their customers and the local community.

Quick and caring response from inquiring to the end of the trip. The suggested itinerary was nice and the cost was reasonable. They rose to the occasion even during the trip. He is a very experienced driver and has the knowledge as well of a guide. He could explain a lot about the history of the cultural places and the wildlife in the jungle. His englisch is very good. He could arrange everything like a travel agent. He is so friendly and taking care about us. We had a lot of fun with him. He drives careful. He is so reliable and always on time. The car is very comfortable and always clean inside and outside. I wish I would have such a clean car at home😉we could highly recommend Nuwan. We will miss him and would be happy to stay with him in touch. We wish him all the best for the future and a lot of traveller guests.
