- Nomad310741316981 contributionThe safari was great, we got to see so many animals and all of Sri Lanka’s 5 big ones!! It is a long day, we were picked up from our Colombo hotel at 4am and dropped back off at nearly 10pm, but it is an adventure and made quite enjoyable by the super lovely staff. Our driver went to lengths to make sure we saw as much as possible for the day. However always bear in mind that there is no guarantee of seeing specific animals, and always a degree of luck. From the onset communication back in Feb 24 was excellent with the team . Dimath was brilliant, so patient and accommodating with the many requests I had and at times changes of mind .
The tour was perfect and suited to our needs.Palika our driver and guide was equally wonderful and a pleasure to get to know.
I couldnt speak more highly of the company including Berdeen when we had issues with one hotel which was professionally resolved .

Much of the sights were somewhat shabby and in desparate need of money being spent to maintain them. The old town hall is a case in point. It is a very interesting building that is seriously in need of repair.
The driver's english was good and his guide was proffessional. The driver/guide (Starlin ) was super friendly and gave us a great tour of the city while weaving through the traffic like a pro. The open-air vibe is unbeatable, letting you soak in all the sights and sounds – from bustling markets to stunning architecture and Temples . Plus, it's so affordable! You definitely get a taste of local life, and it adds a dash of adventure to your day. However, we didn’t appreciate being taken to an expensive jewelry store, having to sit through a video about there gems and then get pressured to buy jewelry or gems there. We did not ask to shop for gems. Then he took us to a place to buy tea and cinnamon and the prices were super high. We found better items for much cheaper elsewhere.
