I met Shiva at 10am having exchanged a few WhatsApp messages the day before. The tour was great - so many tastings of food ( depends how you count 11 - 20) and in places I would never have found for myself (7) . Shiva was friendly and informative and we went a variety of places.
Highlights were an amazing samosa ( warm and moist and really tasty) at a popular short eats cafe, strange salty, sour and spicy fruits from a street vendor and the freshly made cassava chips at the market. The guy sliced the chips straight into a wok of oil. We finished the tour in a traditional restaurant where I was made to feel welcome by our lady host. A lovely Sri Lankan adventure.

My partner and I booked this class for the last day of our trip to Sri Lanka and it did not disappoint. We really loved the session, the hosts were really friendly and knowledgeable about Sri Lankan food and traditions. We had a lot of fun and were made to feel like old family friends. The food we cooked was delicious and so much of it. We also got a little gift at the end and was welcomed with Ceylon tea. Fully recommend this class.

The Tour was great. Maran is a super nice guy who is not just knowing the good places for good and great street food (definatly worth it), he is also a hell of a tuktuk driver. After one month in Sri Lanka and driving a tuktuk by myself, never had such a great ride in the thickest traffic in Colombo you could imagine. The open rooftop where you can stand up and enjoy the madness from above, is an experience for itself. Thank you and also for the good conversations.

We partook in the market tour, cooking experience, and meal with Shasikala. Both Shasikala and her mother couldn’t have been more welcoming and eager to share their food traditions and culture with us. The market tour was not rushed, and we had opportunities to purchase some spices and tea to take home as well. The market was very local (we were the only tourists) and a nice manageable size.
Back at the house Shasikala and her mother demonstrated the techniques used to cook several Sri Lankan dishes, some of which were new to us as well. Shasikala was very helpful, and adjusted the menu to suit our preferences without issue. We were thrilled that we got to cook many of the great dishes we had enjoyed during our holiday.
I highly recommend Shasikala’s cooking class to anyone who wants to learn to cook Sri Lankan home style food in an authentic setting from a host who is proud to share her food traditions with visitors.

We had a great evening with Naushad. He speaks very good English and is able to explain sights in Colombo while wandering around to hunt for good street food. His tours are adaptable: If you want to get things from stalls at the road, he will get them prepare their dishes freshly for you and explain what you're eating. If you want to eat the best Kotthu ever, he will bring you a bit outside of town where it is served. He will tell you when he deems something unsafe to eat, so the tour is definitely great for people just arriving in Sri Lanka. Needless to say, we had trouble waking after all the amazing food. We can't recommend doing a street food tour with Naushad warmly enough!

Our market tour and cooking school was an amazing experience and one we won’t forget soon! The tour showed us the best of Sri Lankan produce and it was great to try some new ingredients.

The school is very hands-on and takes place in a well-equipped kitchen and dining room. We learned to make a variety of Sri Lankan curries using traditional utensils. Overall, a wonderful experience and one we would fully recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka

Following yesterday's very nice experience in Dambulla and Sigiriya, today we had the half-day tour in Colombo. I would strongly advice this tour for the people who want to see the real life in Sri Lanka. The city is developing, you can walk, you can see nice temples, have the flavor of the life as it is.

Our guide was Shamal - very nice person, he knows many things about the city and the buildings. Always polite and ready to give us informations about everything.

So, in two days, we had really great Sri Lanka real life experience with two very professional persons!

An excellent gastronomic walking tour of Colombo. You visit areas you wouldn’t necessarily head to on your own, with very personable and informative guides.
The food is the main feature from the start and ranges from snacks to sweet drinks to meals. Arrive hungry!
The tours are also eco friendly, with plastic bottles being recycled to make bricks.
    Highly recommended.

It was an awesome tour with lots of different food. Everything was included and you can also suggest food that you would like to try. It was only me who booked the tour for the evening and as a female traveller I felt safe and taken good care of. My guide was really polite and we had some nice conversations since he was really nice and his English was fine. It was a perfect tour to start my travels in Sri Lanka, to get an introduction to the local cuisine by a local and the best way to get to see the major sights of Colombo. Highly recommend!

Dulshan was the perfect host! My family and I all joined Dulshan to prepare and cook a Sri Lankan curry. Dulshan was full of energy and enthusiasm as he told us all about Sri Lanka which gave a wonderful context for the food we were about to prepare. As we prepared and cooked the food, Dulshan was engaging and fun, making everyone feel at ease. The instructions were made easy to follow and Dulshan gave guidance to manage the spice levels for each individual. The food was delicious. Overall, it was a fabulous cookery course. I had such fun! Dulshan was an exceptional host, guide and teacher! I would highly recommend!
