- Zsuzsa.GuideTargu Secuiesc, Romania244 contributionsSituated in the heart of BSB, this Mosque was built in classical islamic style, illuminated with green at night. Was named after the sultan's father and finished in 1958. Has a 52 meter high golden domeWritten 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maryann BBasel, Switzerland302 contributionsWe enjoyed viewing the exhibits in the museum especially those that also enabled us to learn more about Brunei. It was far larger than we had imagined with a whole area that we nearly missed as it was towards the rear and not well signed (check the museum map!). While photos with cameras are not allowed we were surprised that using phone cameras was perfectly fine! Easy to spend 2 or more hours here.Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 20TwentyHonolulu, HI304 contributionsThis is very popular place for locals and tourists to go and experience Brunei food. Lots of choices: noodles, skewered meat/chicken, desserts and drinks. You can eat a nasi katok for B$1! I love the energy, variety and cheapeats!Written 12 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maryann BBasel, Switzerland302 contributionsWe spent a lovely afternoon wandering around this recreational park which is within easy walking distance of the city centre. Just a few joggers joined us and so it was very peaceful. We also got to see monkeys, water lizards and several species of birds. Some easy paths plus some more demanding so caters for all types of walkerWritten 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrc282World8,028 contributionsyou can see the palace from the water, or by driving all the way up to the front gate and park at the adjacent lot along the road. neither will give you a great view compared to what you will see when entering the palace during festive period. before covid, the palace is open to the public at the end of ramadan, in celebration of hari raya. hope this invite will resume again sometime in near future!Written 9 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrc282World8,028 contributionsthere are 4 operators leading trips in this national park
- freme
- trandie
- sumbiling eco lodge / borneoguide
- AZ back to nature
you can find their contact info online or at social media.
freme appears to be the most popular among foreign visitors though not necessarily the cheapest. i would say it is hard / impossible to DIY. the road ends at freme / trandie lodge area, and after stopping the car, you need to find a way to go upstream (swim, boat, etc) to go upstream. moreover, park ranger escort appears mandatory when entering NP.
i went with freme on a day trip. the activities include riding the long boat upsream, climb the canopy walk, visit a waterfall with fish spa, and go tubing on the way back downstream. i was solo but it is not too difficult to find a group. just know that most people book their trips last minute or the day before. the canopy walk is within NP grounds, so the national park ranger will join the group for this part of the day, in addition to the tour operator.
everything under freme is very well organized, and lunch is good. shuttle transport from bsb can be included too, although it is also easy to self drive (all roads are paved) with the new bridge connecting two parts of brunei.Written 9 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I saw few ladies buying cartons of eggs and piles of veges and then they walked towards the riverbank to wait for the boat to take them back to Kampung Ayer.Written 4 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Highroads TravelerNewtown Square, PA647 contributionsWe always stop at the local Catholic Church, and we were very pleased to see the doors open and the church welcoming for us to stop in and pray. The church is simple, but very pretty with a beautiful altar.
I lit a candle, and prayed to Mary both inside and outside at the grotto, and felt very welcomed.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. it was high tide at the time i was there, so i can only imagine how much more gorgeous the sunset will be at low tide.
beware of crocodiles. they can be found at most coastline in brunei, which is why you never see people swimming in the sea. plus, the tutong river lined with mangrove forest is nearby. i believe the crocodiles just follow the water current out to the sea whenever the river water swells.Written 9 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Level -1 offers a parking , and there is a grocery store + pharmacy with a nice selection of local and imported products.
Interesting prices.Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
