Street vendors sell everything from pho to bun cha, and the smells are irresistible. It’s an authentic taste of Hanoi. The noise can also be overwhelming at times, with motorbikes zooming by on the sidewalks.

Nice idealic site buy the lake. Great for a flat walk around with a number of other places to see such as Train Street and the shopping district surrounding the area.

Lake a little polluted but the exhibition is interesting. You have to pay to enter the temple area, very small nominal amount.

you have to find a local store to buy a drink first if you wanna enter to the train street, otherwise the police won’t let you in, a good experience and the price is affordable tho

The first 50 or so meters of the market is great! However, the rest is the same - pretty much all sellers are selling the same products but it’s still worthwhile! You can get some great bargains, don’t pay more than 100k for a branded T shirt and 150k for a branded windbreaker - definitely lots of tourists traps here with sellers overcharging, just know your prices and you can get some great trinkets for back home.

Had a lovely early morning at the Tran Quoc Pagoda. Very peaceful place before the loads of tourists start coming in.

Nice place to visit, away from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi centre. The Pagoda lasted 2 World Wars and a piece of Hanoi history. A must see when you are in town.

We dived into the lively atmosphere, sampling delicious street food and sipping local beer. The vibrant energy was contagious as we mingled with fellow travelers. Laughing and enjoying each bite together made for an unforgettable night filled with flavors and memories we’ll cherish!

Found our way there ourselves. Had no guide. Went for a walk along the bridge about 1km then turned back. The path felt like it was not a path and now and then we had to get on the road to carry on. You could see through the board, sometimes wobbly ones, right through to the bottom. We enjoyed it. Scenery was something we would not have seen otherwise. Some interesting things below the bridge not in built up areas. We enjoyed it - a different experience - and now we know the history.

Very picturesque with a peaceful atmosphere. There is a small shrine and display at the northern end of the lake that houses the two giant turtles that lived in the lake.

At night the shrine in the middle of the lake is lit up and the streets that surround the lake are cordoned off to vehicles and becomes a walking street.

Once that happens the atmosphere turns into a combination of romance and energy as they're many street vendors and couples littered through the lake.

The One Pillar Pagoda is in the Ho Chi Minh Complex. The Pagoda sits on one pillar to resemble a lotus, the symbol of purity.
After leaving the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum we saw the One Pillar Pagoda and made the short climb to look inside.

TLDR: Easy to do a quick visit using grab app for pickup/dropoff; felt safe the whole time; spent about an hour by the lake.

Had a Grab taxi drop me off (and later pick me up) at a Pho restaurant on the main street (83 Đ. Hoàng Hoa Thám, Ngọc Hồ, Ba Đình, Hà Nội, Vietnam) then walked down a short lane to reach the wreckage in the lake.

Visited on a quiet Monday morning around 8am as the city was just waking up. Grabbed an egg and cheese crepe from a vendor outside the hospital (next to the lake). Spent about an hour walking around the lake, taking photos, watching locals gather their groceries from the morning market by the lake. This was one of the more emotionally stirring spots on my trip to Vietnam...

Amazing, impressive, worth visiting. I walked about 3 km of it and took a lot of pictures. The only negative is that is along a heavy traffic road, but is a must visit in Hanoi!
