- Bi Tran6 contributionsPricey, but I don't mind since the golf course and caddies made it an enjoyable round. You start by taking a boat to the island. There are lockers and rental clubs available (but ridiculously expensive for old clubs.) Food is complimentary before the round (bowl of pho). Greens were great, caddies were great the outlay was great. The caddies was good and speak a right amount of English
The course is in good shape and nice layout but no special signature holes
At checkout be patient to understand the English.

The golf course is in superb condition and a real challenge with some particular stunning holes around the turn and towards the end of the round. Stated as an exclusive private course, Van Tri golf course is well maintained as it's status presents. Spotting a modern clubhouse, it is a smaller sized golf course situated near the city and the airport ,opening up another feasible choice for golfers who wish to play and not spend too much time travelling.
Caddy in Hanoi again is nothing to shout about. The greens compared to the 2 BRG courses were much faster but still nowhere near the standard speed you see in Thailand greens. Course is not too difficult if played on the Whites. Undulating fairways is one of its feature as the designer did well in providing these contours for a challenge on this flat land.
Overall, a nice course to play at if it does not burst the budget. He is very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and conveyed his knowledge very well. He was also very proactive in every step of the trip, we always knew ahead what was going to happen. He was super professional from the pickup in the morning until the dropoff in the evening. He also very kindly helped me with the luggage. Had a great golf experience. A group of 11 of us had fun. The course was still quite well maintained. Some of the holes are quite challenging. The golfing staff was mostly helpful. While assigned caddies may vary with experience, generally, they know the course quite well. Line reading assistance was pretty good.
However, do be prepared to wait for your food at the club-house eatery. The staff is less motivated and unless you speak Vietnamese, ordering of food may be challenging as they tend to send the newby to take your order.

This experience was truly unforgettable!
Fishing in Hua Hin was epic (that's another review) then Chiang Mai and Phuket. Lisa had it all under control. Even finding the most authentic place for Cha Ca and joining us there for a delightful dinner. Leo is knowledgeable, passionate, caring and just an all around wonderful guy.
