Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Me_n_my_rucksackYorkshire, UK6,275 contributionsImportantly - this Museum has moved ! It is no longer in the middle of the city. It is now in the suburbs a 20 to 30 min drive out of the middle of town. (Using the Grab App its still only a few pounds) Head for the Vincom Megacity Smart mall (A moders shopping Centre) and its the other side of a dual carriageway with an underpass.
The new museum is large - massive comcrete multi story building with large galleries (some of which were not finished when we visited.
The external displays are generally the ones which were previously displayed in the old museum in town. As you enter the museum grounds to the left are US Aircraft and tanks, to the right Vietnamese aircraft SAMs and Radars.
Fortunateley some of the political propoganda of the old museum has been toned down - after all somewhere claiming to be a Museum presents facts and artefacts not a one sided biased account. The new museum is still a long way from being an impartial account of history but its better than the old one.
When we visited the museum had been open a week, some of the galleries were empty and the escalators didnt work. It was free for the first month and it was heaving with visitors. The obvious bias aside this is an excellent museum displaying the tanks aircraft etc with lots of space around them and very accessable.
Very well worth the trip out of the City to visit it.Written 11 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jon sShepshed, UK91 contributionsThis museum is ok but if you have been to other museums along the same theme in Ho Chi Min then there is no need to go here unless like us you have an hour to kill.
Afterwards though go to the food court one block away it’s the best place to eat in Ho Chi Min 👍Written 3 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On entering you a greeted by a larger than life statue of Ho Chi Minh in air conditioned comfort.
The museum documents the history of the Vietnamese Security Services from the start of the French war to the current with a large series of photos, artefacts such as old radios and weapons and the occasional modelled scene. Each item has a description in Vietnamese and English.
If you are interested in the history of the conflicts in Vietnam this museum is a must see, it's very different and explains what happened in the country from a slightly different angle (although it's as biased as every other museum we visited, but that's fair enough).Written 4 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
