My wife and I went on an evening food tour with our guides, 2 lovely young ladies
by the name of Thanh and Huyen. The arrived early at our hotel and we sat in the lobby and did introductions and discussed what types of food we liked to try. We were at the Movenpick, so actually enjoyed 'chocolate hour' with them
before going on our tour. Our tour was more like going with friends, we learned about them and their families, and how they were from small villages north of Hanoi and attending university in Hanoi. Their english was very good, and they knew all the cool spots to go for street food. We learned how to eat the giant omelettes and tasted many desserts. Huyen held the line at eating snails, but the rest of us enjoyed. It was our very first night in Hanoi, and going out with them helped us get familiar with the traffic. We traveled like locals after that. It was great fun, highly recommended.
