Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- mantravel14Atlanta, GA378 contributionsOne of the most Iconic Buddhist Temple and Complex in Chiang Mai. The Buddha statue is huge and the story behind the location is interesting. The complex also has other Buddha shrines. Location is easily accessible. Note that there is a THB 50 fee for entrance for foreigners.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - T HowieKilmarnock, UK14 contributionsThom was our guide for our day at the sanctuary, his knowledge and love for the Elephants made the day that more enjoyable! He also speaks great English and has a good sense of humour! It’s educational which I loved. Getting to make food for the elephants, bathe with them and get up close and personal was amazing. Knowing that the elephants are rotated each day, and taken care of makes it more relaxing to go to. Very ethical! These trainers love the animals and care for them the best they can. You can also buy photos at the end of the day & a souvenir shop is also on the grounds. Great day!!Written 23 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wilsonhocwSingapore, Singapore3,598 contributionsWat Phra That Doi Kham
วัดพระธาตุดอยคำ
Beautiful Temple of the Golden Mountain, and one of the must-visit places in Chiangmai. Well-known to the locals as the "Lucky Lottery Temple."
For Instagrammable photos, walk towards the end of the temple, and you will see the Doikham Panorama View Point (Google Map).Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wilsonhocwSingapore, Singapore3,598 contributionsVisited here on Monday, 4 November 2024. A very unique "cave temple" to visit and explore in Chiangmai.
Interesting small tunnels inside this cave temple where you can explore the various Buddha statues. If lucky, you might see some bats flying inside the cave.
Outside the cave, there's some historical Buddha statues in the main ground. Also, there's a stairs leading up to the Chedi.Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is a really unique experience where you can trek with the elephants in the jungle. The elephants are not forced to do anything either. Eddy, their owner is passionate about helping the elephants and he runs his small sanctury to be able to afford to care for the elephants. Tomato and Papaya are well looked after and it was great to interact with them! I think the best part of this experience is that the group size is so small, there were only 6 of us and this meant we had more time to feed the elephants and ask Eddy questions. This also means the elephants aren’t overwhelmed by tourists!Written 3 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Damien R7 contributionsAmazing experience. We didn’t do the bamboo river cruise, instead we made elephant medicine and planted some crops for the elephants. This also meant we fed the elephants as a private group the medicine getting some more bonding time with them. Highly recommend, and Sue our guide is a legend.Written 3 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a little hidden in Chiang Mai , so ask your way around or get a taxi it tuk-tuk . This is a fantastic artist piece of work with so much to discover in such a small temple.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - westphillyboysan clemente, CA578 contributionsOrganized chaos, but we still had fun in the end. Seeing the lanterns take off was magical. The food (Premium tickets) was also pretty good. Much better than I thought.
But realize it's not well organized. Poor signage where to go to pick up your tickets. No one says where the transportation buses will be. everyone is fighting to get on, when they arrive. Same thing when you leave. Even people with the organizers' badges din't know where we should go. But at the end of the day, you get there and back.
Way cool once in a lifetime experience, but wouldn't do again. Be prepared for organized chaos and you'll be ok. :)Written 25 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots and lots of walking and lots of flowers and trees, and the Royal. There's a food area too. The day I went the King was visiting so the area was abuzz with preparation for his visit. Great time!!Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wilsonhocwSingapore, Singapore3,598 contributionsAfter visiting Tha Pae Gate and the Sunday Night Market, I would recommend this Tha Phae Grill
ท่าแพกริลล์ which is one of the best bar and restaurant in the vicinity.
For dining, I would recommend the 4th level. For cocktails and a romantic night view, go up the spiral staircase to the rooftop 5th level.
Conveniently located next to Tha Pae Gate.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This waterfall is a series of 10 levels, some more dramatic than others. There are three parking areas. If you park at the top level, you can access level 3 to level 10. Some people have said that solid shoes are required, but I did not find that to be the case. The entire path is paved with concrete or stone, and there are no real steep stretches. Flip flops will work if you are used to walking in them. Crocs, probably not. If time is limited, rather than push all the way up to level 10, I would concentrate on levels 5, 6, and 7, the most dramatic falls. There is a checkpoint at level 6, with an attendant. Appears that the upper levels are sometimes closed. Toilets are available at each parking lot. Toilets at lots 2 and 3 are not too fancy. I didn't try the toilet at lot 1, but the building looked new, probably the place to stop if you need sit down. There are food sellers at lot 3. I ordered pork liver salad for 100 thb. Food was tasty and the ladies were eager to chat.Written 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
