Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some nice architecture- but it is the natural location that will impressWritten 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We learnt the basics of Buddhism and meditation through meditation practice and an interactive presentation given by KK. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone with an interest in Buddhism and Thai culture whilst in Chiang Mai!!!Written 14 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oak2wnOakland, CA1,269 contributionsVery cool to see a wat here at the side of a mountain. You walk through tunnels to see other parts. Nothing alarming, but there were bats resting/hanging in one of the tunnels.Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jbg74Saint Paul, MN1,194 contributionsThe original temple is from the early 16th century although the buildings now are much newer. The "silver" temple is mostly aluminum. The designs hammered into the aluminum cladding are really cool. This temple is definitely worth visiting.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ayelén P1 contributionI had a wonderful time visiting this elephant care sanctuary! Our guide, Mr. Sapee, was fantastic—he was so friendly and happy, taking the time to explain everything in detail and answering all of our questions. It was clear that he truly cared about the elephants and their well-being.
The sanctuary itself was beautiful, and the elephants looked well cared for, which was reassuring to see. The facilities were also great—the toilets were very clean, and the food was absolutely delicious!
The only thing I wondered about was how close we were able to get to the elephants. While it was an incredible experience, I hope that it is done in a way that respects their natural behavior and well-being.
Overall, it was a memorable and well-organized visit, and I appreciate the efforts the sanctuary makes for these amazing animals.
Would highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Written 23 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Here we can see a vast collection of insect specimens, photographs, preserved nests and insect-inspired art and in true Thai style, some philosophy among the exhibits.
This museum is open 10 to 3 every day except Wednesday. Note that it always looks like it’s closed; you have to ring the buzzer and the staff will come and open the gate for you.
For people not especially interested in insects, it’s a nice diversion. And every museum visit should result in at least one thing learned. In this case, the insect-borne diseases section was pretty graphic. I don’t ever want to be infected with elephantiasis!Written 31 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She and her husband korn offer small and large group tours, but we opted for a more personal experience.
Very pleased with our trip, and being a private tour, we could choose when and where to visit along the route.
Puang is very knowledgeable, so we learned a lot about the longneck Karen’s who we visited en route to the waterfalls.
The one big advantage is Puang and korn can help with things like ordering food etc.
Korn even arranged for my wife to get her hair cut and for us to have traditional sak yants with a monk.
We will definitely use them for any trips we plan to take around Chiang Mai when we come back.
A really good recommended company.Written 22 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DanThe Hague, The Netherlands9,237 contributionsTook a short hike to waterfall with our children. It was a very nice experience. Entrance fee was 100 baht for adults (I believe, my wife paid). Our children were free. Plenty of parking available, as well as a camping ground and other accommodation to stay overnight.Written 27 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JULIAN M69 contributionsThis was great fun. We were able to see some artists at work painting their elephants, and we were able to paint our own ceramic elephants in our own way.
It was an excellent way to spend time in Chiang Mai while at the same time contributing to their valuable fundraising activities for elephants.
We REALLY recommend this for individuals or the whole family!Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. His English is also excellent. Fabulous range of works - and many interesting pieces exploring different Thai tribes.Written 12 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rene SKealakekua, HI34 contributionsThe elephants are so well tended to. As well as many, many other animals in this sanctuary in northern Thailand. It was so heart opening to see EVERY elephant having its own keeper. Feeding, protecting it daily. The trust between the keeper and the elephant is profound to witness.
This is not a sideshow or RIDE AN ELEPHANT amusement. It is a great experience of animal respect.
