Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience was unforgettable - absolutely incredible. The festival itself was lovely and fairly well organized, with the exception of the transportation to the grounds which was disorganized with multiple queues and nobody there to direct people. That aside, upon arrival it was great. Tons of food, activities, and exploring to be done before the formal ceremony begins, so go early to have time to soak it in. We sat quite far back for the ceremony, so the audio wasn't great but it was a good cultural experience. The lanterns are of course the highlight; this was a surreal experience and made it all worth it. Be prepared for about an hour drive in a tuk tuk each way and note that the outhouse bathrooms were pretty disgusting.

People were having fun especially teenagers and some tourists out of curiosity and respect. There were also shows and entertainment and most of the Thais love it . As
a foreigner, I learned to respect the Thai culture and enjoyed watching splashing water using water guns and buckets although not all people wanted to be wet. I think if you don't like to be wet avoid the areas where everyone played the water festival.

For just 600 baht a year, you can become a member of the excellent reference library here. There is a large collection of books covering every aspect of design; there are even cook books and a fabulous assortment of magazines.

Located in a beautiful building behind a museum in the center of the Old City, the Chiang Mai House of Photography was an interesting place to visit. When I went, there was a fascinating exhibit about Vietnamese fisherfolk. In addition to the photos, there are a couple of comfortable places to sit. No shoes allowed.
