Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Peaceful place
Lovely ambience
Some nice architecture- but it is the natural location that will impressWritten 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. ท่าแพกริลล์ which is one of the best bar and restaurant in the vicinity.
For dining, I would recommend the 4th level. For cocktails and a romantic night view, go up the spiral staircase to the rooftop 5th level.
Conveniently located next to Tha Pae Gate.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are many shops that sell products, range from big wooden furniture to stylistic wooden vase and crafts. If you are the one who love decorating your home, you will love this place. I visit this place many times but still love to be there if I have time. Reasonable price. Some products are the same as the ones you find in the night market of CM but I like to buy directly from the producers. It may be a bit in-convenient to travel there if you don't have a car.Written 30 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BKK111bangkok559 contributionsJust a short drive out of the city this artist’s village is a lovely place to visit but it’s very small so try to include it with other places in the same direction. Other reviews have explained what’s there so I won’t. I must take exception to the review that said it’s not authentic Thai. I think she probably wanted to see the old traditional crafts from centuries ago being repeated. This is a place to find young modern Thai styles. They are nonetheless authentically Thai because they are Thai designs, made by Thai people in Thailand!Written 15 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TanjaZagreb, Croatia17 contributionsThis is more of a casual stop while exploring Doi Pui peak or some of the nearby trails.
The village has a large tourist market running through it, offering a mix of souvenirs and handmade items that reflect the local culture. There’s no pressure to buy anything if you don’t want to, but it’s nice to see some unique, handmade crafts alongside the typical tourist trinkets.
Some travelers might expect "authentic" experiences that feel like a documentary, but I think this village represents its culture in its own way—the little things it shares with visitors.
There’s also a peaceful Japanese-style garden next to a small waterfall, which makes for a great spot to relax. The coffee shop nearby serves surprisingly good coffee, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting.
Overall, it’s a nice little stop that balances culture and relaxation without feeling too overwhelming.Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The monument depicts the three kings standing in solidarity. The monument also stands directly in front of Chiang Mai City Art & Cultural Center and is a nice landmark to visit before or after the museum.Written 18 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Toria C1 contributionVee you are amazing! You answered every question we had and taught me so much about Buddhism and the temple itself. Inside the temple is detail that I haven’t seen in any other temple! Thank you so much for helping me understand everything! I am so grateful!

I recommend to visit this place in the late of Thai Raining season (approx late September to early November) as this time visitors will have a good time to experience the best time of Rice Terraces.
Panorama of Rice Terraces is the best with a cup of coffee at one of the home-stay nearby there!!
I visited in early November which I had a good chance to see threshing from local farmer as well as the wonderful golden rice fields.Written 25 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As with Tha Pae gate on eastern side, some sections of the old wall are still intact in this area.
If you’re into walking, it takes about an hour and a half to do the entire length of the old city wall along the moat, factoring in photo stops.
It’s an interesting excursion and you’ll end up back where you started at the end of the ‘lap’.Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheRelfsterManchester, UK2,084 contributionsWe were staying in a hotel nearby so on our first day we popped in as we walked into the centre. It was practically deserted which was lovely. A residential and commercial area established by many merchants from China.
