Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely a great time, and a great time of year to go -- dry and sunny, not too hot. Some thought it a bit chill, but those coming from winter climes think it just pleasant.

This tour with Miss Wuan and Mr. Win as the driver, was amazing!
It was our honeymoon, and Wuan came to pick up in Sirilana in the morning and then all the other couples. Wuan is an amazing guide, very friendly and knowledgable!
She took time to explain to us the activities, how to interact with the elephants at the sanctuary and during the hike, she would always engage with us and took so many pictures of the group. We were also fed during our time at the sanctuary and the place is perfect for the elephants and those who work there.
We visited the National Park and the Royal Project Pagodas/Gardens and the views from up there are amazing! Recommend it 100%.
It was late by the time we got to the Karen Village, but we still hang out at their community store and learned about the coffee, and teas made out of the coffee beans. :)
Hey Wuan , where can we get the photos? heheh :P
Khop khun Ka from your friends, Carla and Raju from the UK.

The meal was very good too and there was plenty of food.
The visit of the « café village » was also intersting.

Truly magical experience! The drive was about an hour, nice to see the surrounding towns as we left Chiang Mai. Hotel pick up was smooth too! There are 10 elephants in total, mostly rescued from logging / working conditions on the Laos border. Our guide Siri was educational, kind and funny! This really did feel like a sanctuary where they are promoting awareness and education about safety measures for animals that have already been domesticated and need to have a safe environment to grow old in. A few baby elephants, one who kissed my cheek, an experience like no other!! Opportunities to feed them, get them to trust you and take photos of their incredibly peaceful presence. We opted not to bathe, but it was hilarious to see other folks get sprayed from the elephants trunk! We chose the afternoon half day, which felt like the perfect amount of time. This experience will likely be the most memorable experience from this whole trip, highly recommend!

I highly recommend this cooking class. We booked via TripAdvisor for 3 (2 adults, 1 teenager) the day before. The School responded quickly via WhatsApp to arrange details of our hotel transfers and our menu selection. The transfers were via songthaew.
At thd school, our instructors Noi and Cream, showed us a small but well laid out garden including common thai food ingredients.
The cooking part was excellent, very organised and well supervised. My teen (male) and I learnt some helpful tips and I feel confident I can make some of my favourite thai dishes at home now.
My partner is a very experienced cook and he enjoyed it too.

Non took such amazing care of us and I learned so much about monk culture and got to see how they operate on a more personal level. The temples were really beautiful too and overall a very relaxing and educational time as long as you don’t mind waking up at 4am 😝

The food we made was delicious. It was truly the same if not better than any food you would buy at a local restaurant. I would definitely recommend coming hungry because you will eat a lot of food.

If you’re looking for a fun, magical, but pretty chill time do the half day and just hang out with the elephants. If you want adventure and adrenaline go for the full day but I must warn you the hike is ROUGH. I was not prepared for the intensity of it. I’ve hiked before but this hike wasn’t necessarily hard in terms of elevation or cardio, it was just terrifying. It required a lot of scrambling and balancing on rocks or wood planks and some of the paths were super rocky and narrow and I was so so scared to fall. The waterfall at the end was beautiful but I was so terrified the entire hike lol. My partner had a great time so if you’re an avid hiker, then it’s a blast. If you’re a beginner like me, then just be prepared to want to cry.

Our tour to the Doi Inthanon park with Wendy Tours was very well organized. We were picked up on time and our tour guide for the day (Mint) was warm and welcoming.
Throughout the day he gave clear instructions and information about each stop off.
We stopped at various locations both to and from the main King and Queens temple.
I would highly recommend this tour and this tour company.

We had an amazing tour of the Chiang Rai temples. Poon was our guide and he picked us up promptly at our hotel. He’s an excellent driver, and we enjoyed chatting with him along the way.
At the temples, Poon offered insight and explanations of the symbolism and history. We learned so much. It was a great day. Pagoda Tours are responsive to questions and good to deal with. Highly recommend, and ask for Poon as your guide.
