Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jessica B1 contributionThe atmosphere is electric, especially in the evenings when the market really comes to life. There are a number of performers and artists throughout the Bazaar, adding to the lively vibe with traditional music, dance, and sometimes even local entertainment like fire shows. It's an experience that’s as much about the ambiance as it is about shopping or eating.Written 10 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roberto CSantiago, Chile177 contributionsIt’s good but nothing so special. Many places where to eat in a casual street way. - jbg74Saint Paul, MN1,195 contributionsThis is as much or more a local market as it is a tourist market. The three story building in the middle of the market is full of produce, meat, and other items for locals to buy. There are plenty of stalls in the streets surrounding the building containing everything from gold to souvenirs. If you have never been to an Asian market this one will definitely feel exotic to you.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PDSGhent, Belgium768 contributionsWhat a great place with every day four different cover bands from 7PM till 11PM One os better than the other but it´s the general atmosphere with the food trucks from spareribs to sushi to... everything you would expect in Northern Thailand.Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dr M SteelLondon, UK40 contributionsWe loved Anusarn Night Market in Chiang Mai so much that we went every night during our stay! This market, right in the heart of the Night Bazaar area, truly has it all. From clothing and souvenirs to handmade crafts and jewellery, you can find just about anything you’re looking for, and the prices are fantastic and very affordable.
The variety of food options is impressive—you can try something new every night, with everything from local Thai dishes to international treats. One note is that there’s a small fee for the toilet, so keep some change handy. The market closes around 11 pm, which gives you plenty of time to explore without rushing. And thankfully, the market is undercover, which was a lifesaver on those stormy days we had.
Overall, Anusarn Night Market is vibrant, affordable, and an essential stop in Chiang Mai!Written 8 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Hundreds of stalls along the street both left and right, selling a variety of things like clothes, jerseys, shoes, souvenirs, shoes, slippers, soap etc, many selling the same things, so its up to your bargaining skills. Then there are many cafes, restaurants, open air street food locations in between your walks which is a must to try as Thai food is great! Thai massage shops are everywhere, some pricy, some cheap. It is a pity that toilets along these places are generally not well maintained.Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeanette FJohannesburg, South Africa198 contributionsStreet Food stalls to be found on both sides of the road. Everything from traditional Thai food to more western types. We ate fried rice/pork, (45bhat)and sat on the informal seating directly behind the vendor (each street vendor supplies their own clients seating and are very particular about only their clients sitting there). We had a mango/pineapple iced smoothie (25 Bhat) and finished it off with a banana /Nutella roti (55 Bhat). All our food was great tasting and neither of us were ill. Have cash as no one takes card/electronic payments.Written 19 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 경내 gyoungnaeAsan, South Korea503 contributionsIt's located near mayamall.
it's feel different than mayamall. as I think Maya is department store, but one nimman is traditional market? or trendy market.

So great hygiene in a ตลาด which specialises in foodstuffs - mainly prepared items including แกง, stir fries and grilled dead တိရိစ္ဆာန်။
Very little ภาษาอังกฤษ labelling so you’ll need to be careful if you’re เจ/သက်သတ်လွတ်/vegano, since even a lot of the stir fries for instance have bits of dismembered animals ဟင်းသီဟင်းရွက်များအောက်မှာရှိတယ်။
One end of the covered mercado is devoted to fresh produce - ผัก y သစ်သီး - but in my experience their presence isn’t always as regular as the prepared foods vendedores. No hay asientos.Written 5 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. First of all, a lot of information is provided in English, so that already takes away from its authenticity. Second of all, this is where lots of cooking classes bring the aspiring cooks for market shopping, thus making it very crowded in the morning time and early afternoon time.
Nevertheless it is not a bad place at all to try out some (semi-?)local flavors and shop local ingredients!
Pro tip: if you want to experience the truly local way of doing things, then there are some morning markets that open at 3AM. Don’t know the names unfortunately, but ask around accordingly.Written 28 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
