We bought a package to Ile aux Cerfs from Ebrahim Tours and had a nice day by the beach at this island. We opted for the speed boat trip and had more time on the beach. Lunch was served on the island. We also had a nice short ride to the waterfalls where we saw the little monkeys :)
Lunch was served on the island.

We parked at the Black River car park and completed the Pilgrims trail and the Machabee trail. If it has recently rained you will need proper hiking boots for some challenging parts of the climb in the mud (some of the trail had rope to help you climb). Only a small portion of the trail would be accessible in trainers (for example we had to cross a river at the end which would have completely soaked our feet). The views of the Forrest were very good and we enjoyed the day, however the views were not as nice as Le Pouce or Le Morne (still an excellent activity however.)

The water fall in combination with the Seven Coulored Earth is a must visit for all first time visitors in Mauritius.
A bit pricey, no need to go there a second time.

Best is to go when it's dry.

Loved it! There was a special ceremony at there and I really liked the ambiance of the temple with it's crowd, no wearing rules, you don't need the take off your shoes, it should be the most relaxed Hindu temple 😀

The best beach we visited in Mauritius. The views are the nicest we found and the beach is full of less coral than other places visited. There is a great public car park a short walk from the beach

With the shopping malls always crowed and the busy city life nearby, the Caudan can be a perfect place to be just to stop by and spend some time away from the rush especially in the afternoon. Went there some month on an afternoon and had a great moment. The place is a good spot to have a walk or sit and relax. Or do some shopping or have some food.

To anyone thinking of climbing Le Mourne who has little experience, I really recommend using Prakash at Green Discovery. An inexperienced climber myself (and not very fit either) and with a huge fear of heights, Prakash made the unthinkable happen. I felt very safe and Prakash was really supportive/patient the whole time, both helping and guiding me step by step. Prakash was very attentive and brought along additional water and snacks for us. A local to the area, Prakash also told us many facts about the various plants/birds which was brilliant and really added to the experience. Amazing views - really recommend to anyone looking for a challenge! Prakash’s contact details +230 5 760-8367

An excellent climb if dry, but we visited when wet and it turned into a real muddy affair! The views of Port Louis and the northern island were excellent. I wouldn’t recommend this in trainers if it were recently wet!

I have a partiality for markets, so I try to visit them in every place I go. Central market at Port Louis is quite OK as markets go. It is clearly divided into two parts: one for locals, who are busy buying local produce and one for tourists – souvenir and spice stalls. Here prices are mostly ridiculous. I was already warned by a friendly taxi driver not to buy spices at the market, because same ones can be bought at shops and supermarkets three- to fivefold cheaper. Which is absolutely true. I asked for a price of a small souvenir, heard the price and laughed out loudly. Finally bargained to at least acceptable one. If you buy something - take care.

Just as you can see on the pictures in the internet and totally as we imagined. Just as pretty as the beaches on the Maledives.

I went here yesterday and it was closed off for tourists/general public. I am told that the site is now protected and might be reworked for reopening in near future. A slice of Mauritian history.

One of the most beautiful beaches in all Mauritius. We were almost the only people in all the beach. The sand is white and clean, the water is crystal blue. What could you expect more. The only downside is that you can enter the beach in very few places. But when you are here - it is paradise.
