Not any of the above - with a charity. so I clicked @business' as there was no other choice. Really interesting archaeology and artefacts but many things not labelled at all eg the throne has several signs saying 'do not touch ' but nothing else. Who's throne was it? How old is it? The entrance price is cheap which is good but non Ethiopian visitor could afford to pay more and contribute towards some labelling.

This museum is free and was created by a surviving Mother who lost her sons during the red terror. This is a small but also important historical landmark that highlights an important and also horrible moment in modern Ethiopian history. It’s it’s conveniently located below the Addis Ababa museum at Meskel Square.

Ethological Museum is located in the University of Addis Ababa and is home to displays related to the contemporary history of the country, specially the period of Haile Silase. The place used to be the residence of the king and certain areas have been kept in the same state in which they were used by him and his family.

It costs 200 Birr to enter.

Like with all visits to the Orthodox churches in Addis Ababa, this one is also rich in history and even more fascinating is the beauty of its architecture and getting to learn about the Orthodox religion and way of life. You get to see where Empress Zewditu was crowned as well as Emperor Haile Selassie and learn more about this church's linkage to the famous "Battle of Adwa" which is very central to the history of Ethiopia. A few relics have been preserved in their little museum, weaponry used in the battle as well as the garments the royals wore in those years. My one regret is not paying the extra charge to take a video as they get to demonstrate how a typical Orthodox service takes place in song, beating of the drums, the prayers and all....well, that is if delving into different religious practices is your thing.

My favorite part about this museum is its location, perched on a hill overlooking the skyline of the city. This is a small museum that does pack in cultural artifacts and historical references to the city. I enjoyed my brief visit here and the walk around to see the city below. Getting here was a little bit tricky as we are not from here, the taxi driver couldn’t quite figure out the entrance, since it is not well labeled, but after asking a few people, we finally figured it out.

I found this place on Tripadvisor and decided to check it out. I was surprised that it is actually behind a closed door and so it is a little bit tricky to find. However, once we went through the gate, we saw the compound of shops where they are making the local products. I purchased two locally made scarves, which were really beautiful, and also quite different from some of the styles I’ve seen around the city. My partner purchased a pair of leather earrings, which were also very beautiful.

I have been a client for long time now. Group of great people!
It’s so uncomfortable that there is no different section for men & women.Very disappointing. Besides that Ephrem is the top barber. Very nice guy! Front desk may need a lil training on friendly approach but not that bad. Thank you

We came to Ethiopia for 1 month from the United States to meet our adopted son’s birth family for the first time. Prior to coming, Melke was recommended to us by a couple of other families who had traveled with him. They said things like, “Melke will become like a part of your family” and “I wouldn’t want to travel 1 day in Ethiopia without Melke.” They couldn’t have been more right!

Working with Melke was the best choice we made in Ethiopia and his services made our trip seamless and a true joy. He was patient with us as we were learning to navigate a new culture and a number of delicate situations meeting family. He knew all the fun things to do, the best places to eat (without getting sick!) and how to maximize our time and budget. And, he also knew how to manage critical situations like when our son got sick and needed urgent medical care and we were in a rural area.

Whether you’re traveling to Ethiopia for a day or a month, you won’t regret working with Melke! He’s genuinely the best.

Full of beautiful unique furniture, home accessories and antiques from different regions of Ethiopia and lots of colorful paintings, this art gallery is an absolute must visit while in Addis. Every item in this great selection of high-end art, modern and traditional, will attract your attention.

The location is just around the corner of the Sheraton hotel, and items can be shipped abroad.

Sabahar is the place to go when you are looking for nice textiles. We found scarfs, beach towels, blankets, bags etc. The compound is quiet and relaxing.

Great place in Addis for cocktails with friends - or a date. I didn't try the food, but it looked good, and at least they know how to make drinks. The entire atmosphere and deco is really fantastic, and it's nice and spacious, so that you can have privacy. Can definitely reccomend for a night out.
