From art, musical instruments, replicas of houses from the various regions, the museum nicely educates visitors on this wonderful country.
Excellent museum in fantastic building.
Doual'Art Douala
The museum's host met my group to give us some of the background of the museum and helped us understand how art is being emphasized and how local artists are being supported.
then, it dedicates whole sections of the museums to the big ethnic groups of Cameroon: their origin, culture, life, etc.
The museum is divided in 3 sections: one floor dedicated to the history of the Wouri coast, the Sawa people, the origin of the city Douala, and of the name Cameroon, and slavery.
My group of 20 visited this excellent museum and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of Douala.
I learnt a lot and really enjoyed the set up of the museum.
The museum has a very intersting collection of traditional Camerounian woodcraft art.
1 Way to experience it
