Well organized and exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Rockie, made our safari trip unforgettable. I highly recommend him as a guide

This was my first time taking a safari and the first time in many years joining a small organized group trip like this and I must say: Meru Slopes sets the gold standard. From the airport pickup to the early morning drop off at the bus station from the hotel at the end of the journey, rarely have I seen better service or quality than with Meru Slopes. The campsites they chose were excellent, the food cooked by Buga amazing, the itinerary executed by the excellent, knowledgable, and charismatic Stanley, and the interface, organization, and arrangement of everything from afar (and near) by Jerome were the definition of professionalism and good taste. Whoever wants to see and experience Tanzania at its very best should travel with Meru Slopes.

Me and my mom were picked up from another hotel in Arusha by a driver who had very little info for us. We maneuvered through traffic and finally turned down a side alley and were at the hotel for the night. The driver helped take our bags up to reception, the receptionist had us fill out a paper then she took us up to our room and closed the door behind her. We had no idea what was next so I sent Geofrey a message and he replied rather quickly letting us know someone would be by around 6pm to inform us. We went to the lobby just ahead of 6 and Geofrey met us there. He told us about the schedule for the next morning and went over the itinerary for the whole trip. Dinner the first night is on us so we chose to eat in the hotel kitchen. We had spaghetti, we made the mistake of ordering two. It was all so delicious but way too much food. While we ate, the rest of our safari group came to the kitchen and we all got to meet and chat a bit.

The next morning we all met in the lobby at 6am I believe. We met our amazing guide Samwel and our chef Saleem. We loaded our bags into the truck and headed off. (Oh and our extra luggage was able to be left in the office and was perfectly safe.) Samwel was an incredible guide. He was personable from the moment we met him. He helped cultivate a family feel for our safari group. We all met as strangers and parted as family. Samwel was so good about getting group photos of us all which was really nice. The drive is bumpy and dusty but amazing. Samwel shared interesting details about life in Tanzania and was always open to answering any and all questions we may have had.

We are family style meals. We would lay down a cloth to cover the table and we would have dishes of food set out and we would all serve ourselves and sit together at all meals. The food was delicious. Usually eggs of some sort for breakfast with bread or potatoes and fruit and coffee. Lunch was meat of some sort, vegetables and rice or pasta or potatoes. And dinner we usually had a soup starter with bread of some sort, a meat, veggies and a carb. Sometimes we had juice available, Coca Cola but always water. The flavor in the food was really good and each meal always hit the spot.

The safari game drives were all quite amazing. Samwel always got us in just the right position for close animal encounters. Sometimes it would seem like we were one of the few cars going in the opposite direction of a lot of other cars but it always turned out to be worth it. Samwel has been a guide for a long time and absolutely knows what he’s doing. We saw all of the animals we could have hoped to see and even a few last minute random wishes like a snake!

Camping was an experience. The Serengeti campsite wasn’t too crowded when we arrived but filled in once we were settled. It still wasn’t too bad. It was a pretty area but you are camping so things will be dirty. There were bathrooms and a shower there. Again, the facilities are nice for being a popular camping area. Camping in the crater was a bit more challenging. It was freezing!! Absolutely bring warm clothes. It got down into the 40s at night and we woke up to a low cloud covering and wet tents. So dress in layers and be prepared for a cold morning in the crater. Thankfully it warmed up in the crater around 11am or so.

The drive back to the hotel felt long just because we were exhausted from an amazing trip. Samwel brought our bags up and we said goodbye. Geofrey was there to meet us in the lobby and we were given the info of when to be downstairs for our ride to the airport the next morning. Then we got our room assignments and headed up.

We had dinner in the hotel again the last night. We got a different type of spaghetti but shared one this time. The power ended up going out and the very kind waiter brought his phone over with the flashlight on and set it on our table until the generator kicked on so we didn’t have to eat in the dark.

The hotel was comfortable. It’s kind of loud at time but we managed to sleep pretty good while there. The shower was sufficient. You have to bring your own toiletries which isn’t a problem. They provide towels and hand soap and toilet paper.

Overall, we had an excellent trip and if we make it back to Tanzania, we won’t hesitate to book with Meru Slopes again!

I booked a very last minute 3 day safari to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Met incredible people from around the world in the jeep we would call home for the next few days. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, compounded by the fact that our tour guide Asad was lovely, had excellent English and a sharp sense of humour. I loved it so much I extended another day.
Driving through the Serengeti at sunset with giraffes and zebras surrounding us will be a memory I will never forget. An elephant visited our campsite one night and stayed for around an hour, which was surreal. Countless animals seen throughout and apparently we broke the record for highest number of lions seen in one day.
I didn’t know anyone at the start of the trip and by the end we felt like family.
Thank you to Asad and the other organisers - this was an unequivocally amazing trip.

The experience as a whole was behind our expectations... All the natural parks and protected areas that we visited were absolutely amazing. Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater seem unreals, drown by the fantasy of a visionary artist.
Our guide, Mandela, was just top notch: professional, available, capable of answering any type of question about nature, animals, history and local culture.
We had the opportunity to spot all kind of animals: lions, cheetahs, elephants, a leopard, buffalos, hippos, birds of any shape and colours, gnus, jackals, etc etc...
We booked a mid range 5 days safari but all the accomodations were way above mid-range level. We spent 2 nights in the Suricata Boma lodge, an amazing place just in front of the waters of Manyara Lake. One of the best hotel where I stayed in my all life. The third night was in a luxury tended camp in the middle of Serengeti and the last night was in Tortilis camp, an unbelievable place in the middle of a pluvial forest on the slopes of Ngorongoro crater, surrounded by several Masai villages. Just magic.
Last but not least, the food was always delicious, both the lunches during the game driving and the dinners in the lodge and camps.

My husband and I chose Gosheni for our safari and could not have chosen better. We had excellent service from our first contact with them through the completion of the safari. The experience went beyond our expectations. Our guide, Andrew, was extremely knowledgeable and his love and passion for the animals is infectious. His personality made the trip even more enjoyable.

We have just returned from a truly wonderful three days with Suricata safari visiting the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. Lewis was our experienced driver and an excellent guide. Thanks to his vast knowledge of the animals and their habitats, we saw a huge variety including the big five and got very close to lots of them! The chef, Tito, produced delicious hot lunches with plenty of variety. Both Lewis and Tito were extremely professional and very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our safari with Suricata and would highly recommend them for an unforgettable experience 10/10.

This was an amazing experience! We saw so many animals in such beautiful environments and ecosystems, and it was truly unlike any other experience we have ever had. David was a super knowledgeable tour guide and helped us spot some animals we never would have spotted on our own and he was a great driver on some of the challenging roads throughout the safari! The accommodations were all wonderful- the hotels and tents were all comfortable, and all staff members throughout our trip were so kind and welcoming. I cannot recommend this experience enough- my family and I enjoyed every part of it!

This tour was even better than I expected! The company communicated very professionally and were very helpful with transport for hotels and airport. On the tour we had a very experienced guide/driver who found so many animals for us and knew lots about them. He was the best guide I've had in 4 weeks in Africa. The camping was fun and the support staff prepared excellent meals and helped with luggage. I would 100% recommend this company for my own friends and family!

We returned home last week from one of the most amazing family trips ever! Beyond our expectations: the locations, animals, local people and food/lodging. I was traveling with my wife, 2 teenage kids, plus my mother and her boyfriend, both in their 70's.

It was hard deciding on a Safari company but later settled on Gracepatt Ecotours, this trip was not prompted by a friend’s recommendation, but the idea ‘we don’t know anyone who has been on Safari’. I enjoyed communication with Grace his responses felt like more than work. Our itinerary was tailored and included: Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater & Zanzibar.

We could not be more pleased with our Kenyan guide/driver: Simon. He was an amazing personality to spend time with and had incredible local knowledge. It's not just what he says, but all that you see Simon doing that adds to your trip: attentive driving, scanning the horizon for animals, talking on the radio and in-person with other guides, help with lost luggage, regularly checking in on his clients well being.

The next section of our trip in Tanzania was great, but not as good as Kenya. Tanzania was beautiful, but crowded, we were shocked how many Land Cruisers would be gathered around a few animals. Its was a great idea booking this Safari with Gracepatt Ecotours Kenya. We will definetly come back one day

Safari was an amazing experience. We had a driver and a guide with Spanish knowledge all the safari because my parents do not speak English. They were really helpful and friendly, giving us tips and always trying to find the best for us in the safari, looking for different/not common spots and going the extra mile. Furthermore our driver was an skilful mechanic and helped the other cars when they had mechanical problems. An amazing experience with the best guides.

The trip was amazing! We saw the wildlife as it really is. The driver was very amicable man named Gerald. He took good care of us, drove carefully but in the same time he was able to show us so many amazing animals! He was able to give us special information about the animal life about why they behaved like they did. I loved being on safari with him, it was a real treat.
