What travellers are saying
- Dilara Bulut GöktenTekirdag, Türkiye71 contributionsThe place was amazing, i believe Rabat is the most beautiful city in Maroc. The city and this place was so clean and organised. I absolutely recommend visiting this place.Written 3 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RajGeeBengaluru, India8 contributionsMust visit monument in Rabat. Excellent architecture and intricate mosaic work is very impressive. We also witnessed the change of guards during our visit.Written 14 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MontySpiToronto, Canada529 contributionsThe Rabat Medina is beautiful and well-maintained. The residential streets are narrow and fun to walk; just keep your purses, phones, and other belongings close to you (wear your backpack in the front). We had a (tall, thin, male) "stalker" following us for much of the walking tour of the medina, and the guide was unsuccessful in shooing him away.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DotsGirl2Vancouver, Canada598 contributionsThe tower was built but the remainder of the mosque wasn’t. You walk around a courtyard with lots of unfinished pillars open to the sky. There is also a Royal mausoleum here that is wonderfully decorated. - eVe 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬Singapore, Singapore1,534 contributionsFlanked by the ramparts, medina and Kasbah les Oudaias, the old town of Rabat retains its charm with the blue and white houses. It lies near the coast where one can view the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the River Bouregreg.
Rabat is a city best explored by foot. We strolled from Hassan Tower along the waterfront down to the old town in about 20 minutes. Although it was warm at midday, we were cooled by the wind from the coast, making it a nice walk. We went through the medina without any disturbance from touts unlike the medina in Marrakech, Fes and Chefchaouen.
Do go to the highpoint at Kasbah les Oudaias and view the beautiful coast.Written 17 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good signage showing where animals are from, how rare they are, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most visitors appear to be local families rather than tourists. Can catch a cab just outside of the main gate (turn right on the sidewalk).Written 1 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KatielouAustraliaHobart, Australia2,037 contributionsYou can only visit the exterior of the palace to gain a glimpse of the life of the Moroccan royal family. It is interesting to see the guards in all their different regimental uniforms but be guided as to how close you can get to them. There seems to be an invisible line that you are not allowed to cross!!Written 23 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rioghnat C6 contributionsI am so lucky to have read about this off the beaten track museum and lucky it was near our Riad. It's hidden away in the Medina but worth the effort. An amazing collection of dolls from every country displayed in a lovely old Riad. It was lovely to meet the husband and wife who set up this museum which began with the wife's passion for collecting dolls. It's a real labour of love and such a personal place and collection , I found it very touching and will remember its intimacy. Thanks to Marie and Abdul for opening up the collection to the public.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian T5 contributionsA lot to see - and some of it very good.
Apparently all the displays were temporary exhibitions, by a handful of artists, so going back a few months later you might see a completely different selection of art.Written 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
