  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

George (guide) and Edwin (driver) were both great. They had to be flexible last evening with different traffic changes etc on the evening. Both were very friendly. George had a wealth of knowledge on all our stops. Would defintely reccomend.

We had Dion as our narrator and Maggie as our driver. Both were outstanding. I don't know how Maggie managed to get through all the crazy traffic she did, but I was impressed. Dion is a walking encyclopedia of historic knowledge on Washington DC. He talks fast and walks fast, but we were able to keep up. This is not a tour for the weak or infirm. There's more walking than we expected and heard a couple of people on canes mention this. We were so happy we did this tour because it stops at so many of the things we wanted to see on our first trip to DC. Now we have a much better idea of what we want to spend hours viewing. I wouldn't recommend this tour for young kids. It's a lot of getting on and off a bus, lots of driving and sitting in traffic. We did get some great photos of memorials. My only disappointment is that we didn't get closer to the White House or the Capitol. We got photos, but from pretty far away. Otherwise, the whole thing was pretty awesome.

We booked this tour for the 9 AM slot on a Saturday and it was great. The earlier spot wasn’t too crowded and our tour guide Kiersten was great! She was very knowledgeable and led an amazing tour that was jam packed with sights and information. Would book with this company again!

Great experience. It is a fast paced walking tour, so old folks like us struggle to keep up. Toward the end we completely lost sight of our guide and stood there waiting for him to come back and find us. Lol
Awesome tour rich in history. Once we were lost and the guide came back to find us, we opted to separate from the tour and hang out at the library of congress. My wife and I are both book nerds so we were able to get library cards and enter the library floor itself. Great experience.

Great way to see DC without excessive walking. You can get off and on the bus based on you interest. It was the perfect decision for those who were not able to walk long distances. The price was fair as well. The children in our party were thrilled by the top open part of the bus.

Carl was an amazing tour guide! We had teens with us and he was such a great tour guide. We loved the company and the small group approach to the city tour. It was nice to feel like we had a personal tour and we really appreciated the knowledge and information that was shared with us! We highly recommend!

Deon was a fantastic tour guide! Entertaining and extremely knowledgeable! The visit to the Capital was a bit hap-hazard, but that was before we met up with Deon on the bus.

Dion was our tour guide on this excursion and what a phenomenal person he is. His knowledge is immense and he made the day out extremely interesting for all of us. It was my birthday and I chose to go on this trip as my birthday treat and I am so glad that I did, it was the perfect day out, we also had amazing weather and Mount Vernon if definitely worthy of a visit. If there was a downside it was that we did not get to stop in Alexandria or visit the river front of Alexandria on our way pass.

The best way to start our visit to Washington DC! Our tour guide, Sebastian, was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. We had the leeway at each stop to take our time and explore. Would highly recommend!

Jim was knowledgeable and interesting. He kept a good pace for everyone. There is some uphill walking... just noting this for those with physical limitations. The cemetery is immaculately kept and absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this company. Professional team. Thank you to each and everyone who has served or serve. True heroes!

Our hop on hop off trolley tour 3/2024 was great. Sarge and others did a great job narrating all the interesting sites. I rated it a 4 because of pouring rain and cold. I suggest in bad weather to NOT get off the Trolley, because waiting 30 min for it to come back is too long!

Did a Segway Tour with this group today. I had done a Segway Tour in DC about 14 years ago with another group, but could not find them listed and chose Capital for myself and my girlfriend to tour with.

They request that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time in order to do a safety orientation and learn how to use a Segway. We actually arrived about 40 minutes prior and were the first to arrive for our scheduled tour time. We were greeted by very friendly staff who immediately set out to get us ready. The group for our time slot consisted of about 12 people.

Our guides were Chris and Teddy. One guide led the group while the other brought up the rear to make sure that the group stayed together and got through all crossings safely. Each of us had a radio earpiece where we could hear the tour leader as he spoke to us and conducted the tour. At about the halfway point, we took a short break and the guides traded places. So Chris led the first half and Teddy led the second half. Both guides were phenomenally knowledgeable and had a deep understanding of the history of the sites along our route. I am a bit of a history buff, and know quite a bit, especially history surrounding our Nation's Capital. I did not hear a single historical inaccuracy from either of the guides, and also learned a whole lot that I did not know prior to this tour. Both guides were not only highly knowledgeable, but quite engaging and entertaining as well. These guys have that special talent of brining history to life and making it fun. They also took time to take pictures for those in the group who wanted pictures of themselves in front of various sites with the individuals cell phones. That was a nice personal touch.

The tour itself was two hours in duration, and we covered a lot of ground and saw many things along the way. I feel like this tour is a tremendous value. Great staff, great guides, and a great attention to everyone's safety without being overbearing. I highly recommend Capital Segway Tours to anyone who would like a nice guided tour and see a lot of sites in a reasonable time frame. My girlfriend is still going on and on about how much fun it was and how great all of the staff were.

As for ease of riding, it is super easy. It had been 14 years since I had last ridden one, and it came back in no time. Most of the rest of the group had never ridden one and were experts in no time flat. Plus all of the staff kept a close eye on everyone during the orientation of learning how to ride, and expertly helped each rider as needed.
